: Yes, but not like this. I'd never seen Master Galen that distraught before. He's usually so composed - like he's perfectly in control.

When did Maren see this? We saw a conversation with Sterling and Galen where Galen seemed pretty angry.

: That's the nature of war. It strips even the most powerful of their control. Galen knows that best of all. He's the one who taught it to us in the first place.

Well, no, this isn't a war thing, this is a politics thing. I know half of you are ready to bludgeon me with Clausewitz, but it's a simple matter that even in peacetime the king could have hypothetically ordered this idiocy.

: I think he's learning the lesson again himself.

: That may be.

: At least I don't have to wait another year for you and Garrick to catch up to me. And I know you've been eager to get out there ever since you enrolled. Seems like you're getting your wish.

: I'm definitely looking forward to stepping onto the stage and making an actual impact. I've spent my entire life up to now in the audience.

The game really, really wants you to buy Irving as a natural leader, but this interaction makes him look like a blind ass.

: I know you'll make the Academy proud. And your family. Though I'll admit, your brother set the bar pretty high.

: All the more reason not to take my eyes off of it for a moment.

I would swear in any other narrative this is setting Irving up for a massive fall, but we will literally have a god show up to talk about how great Irving is. Uh. Spoilers.

: Ambition has its place, don't forget. It doesn't hurt to take a look at your surroundings now and then.

: As long as it doesn't slow me down.

: By my standards I'm still not moving fast enough.

You could seriously give Irving's dialog to Steerpike of Gormenghast fame and you wouldn't need to change much.

: Isn't this bothering you, Irving? This is really messed up.

: Uh. No. You were going to graduate anyway, remember?

: Yeah, but not like this. Master Galen was really upset, and I've never seen anything break that man's composure.

: That's the nature of war as he taught us and relayed by me, a War Master.

: Well, I don't have to wait a year for you and Garrick to graduate with me, and I know you've wanted to get out of the Academy, so you're getting your wish!

: I WILL BE THE MOST POWERFUL JEDI EVER! I was being held back by being a kid, but now I'm going to step onto center stage. It will be all about me!

: Um, Irving, that's because you were a kid.

: I was born to do this! I am called! I will even learn to stop people from dying!

: Um...wow. I'm sure you'll make us all proud. Even your super awesome brother.

: I must get better.

: You know there's a whole world out there with things to do besides studying the blade or whatever the hell this is? Well, maybe you'll learn someday when you're older.

: Hey! You're only one year older than me!

: Lol.
