Brooke is not a good character, and furthermore this is not a good support. Do you remember this?

Brooke is of course the cliched fantasy assassin with a heart of gold written by someone who has never interacted with - or even read about - a contract killer.

: I know you are a skilled fighter, and that you come from a land governed by the Way of Oaths. I find both of these facts reassuring.

: You'd find them less reassuring if you knew how many oaths I had to break to get here.

This is completely inexplicable unless Brooke is trying to sabotage her way out of this hated assignment.

: Hm. Perhaps I would. But our way also teachers us that no one is beyond redemption. One who fails in their oath may also seek the path of atonement.

It's amazing how there's all this stupid bullshit lore of months like "Frostsoul" but then we end up with a priest wearing a cross preaching about forgiveness in a fantasy setting where Christ never existed.

This is of course an idiotic position in a land where the gods are real, we will meet one, and they routinely grant miracles to their followers, but what do I know?

: Take your pick. I'm afraid you'll find them both wasted on me.

: Then be assured of my prayers for you.

: And you be assured of my blades.

: I might've once. Now I'm not so sure that's wise.

: Indeed, we must.

: It's good to see another face from Kharmont, my homeland. It means I can trust you because we follow oaths and keep our word, right?

: The joke's on you, Captain! I'm untrustworthy as FUCK!

: If you follow the word of Uncreative Knockoff Jesus you can be saved, and enter the kingdom of heaven.

: I denyyyy thy Christ!

: You know, you seem really untrustworthy.

: Now you get it!
