Flint: Probably just someone's lost dog or something. I don't even know why the hell they called us. Animal control would work just as well
Flint: Just spread out and poke around. If we don't find anything in the next couple of minutes we'll leave.
Pheno: Always the skeptic...
Heavy footsteps and the crunching of brush and bushes
Pheno: That didn't sound like a dog.
Flint: Hang on I think I can see something. I'll make sure the body camera gets a good look.
Flint: THAT'S NOT A DOG! IT'S FUCKING HUGE! OH FUCK STAY AWAY!
Flint: AHHHHHH!
Pheno: FLINT NO! The agent levels their taser at the beast and desperately fires.
It does nothing to deter it
The men's bodies are discovered the following day, their remains so mangled that their death was officially labeled a bear attack. But Flint's body camera footage survived the encounter and raised more questions than answers. The official story is that it was a hoax or a trick of the light... but I'm not so sure.
I won't give you a speech about the possible and impossible, or tell you to believe every crazy story that comes along... but I will tell you that there's more to the world than meets the eye. And the purpose of this organization, of XCOM is to get to the bottom of it. So, will any of you join me in peeling back the curtain and seeing what goes on behind the veil?
