Flora x Rinkah C

Music: Shine in the Light

RINKAH: Hey! Flora, right?

FLORA: That's correct. Do you need me to get Lady Corndog for you?

FLORA: She's right over-

RINKAH: Nah, nothing like that. I'm here for you.

FLORA: Me? I'm sorry... But I'm just a maid. What could you want from me?

RINKAH: Don't give me that. I know you're heir to the Ice Tribe, Flora.

FLORA: ...I am, but that's hardly why I'm here now. I'm a servant. Nothing more.

RINKAH: I'm Rinkah. Heir to the Flame Tribe. Your heritage matters to me.

FLORA: Hm? Oh, yes. So, does this concern tribe business?

RINKAH: Why else would I be here?

FLORA: Forgive me, but... I was under the impression the Flame Tribe were strict isolationists.

RINKAH: Traditionally, maybe, but... Look, I've been in this army for a while now.

RINKAH: Probably spent more time outside the tribe than a chief has in generations. I'm not sure that's in our best interests anymore.

FLORA: So it's the power of friendship compelling you to speak to me?

RINKAH: Friendship? Not a chance. This is a practical matter. I need to protect my tribe.

FLORA: Oh... My apologies. I assumed this was a more selfish matter.

RINKAH: That is our reputation, I guess. But that's what I'm trying to get out of.

RINKAH: My father always taught the tribe that we were strong enough to survive on our own. Whatever came for us.

FLORA: And?

RINKAH: Since I've been here... I've seen the scale of the Nohrian and Hoshidan armies. I know that's not actually true.

RINKAH: And I know from what happened to your tribe that you can't trust a superpower.

RINKAH: ...They'll stab you in the back if they can get something out of it.

FLORA: That's... It's still a bit of a sore subject.

RINKAH: OK, sorry. But you do get my point, right? My Tribe would crumble underneath Hoshidan or Nohrian might if it came to it.

RINKAH: At least, if we were on our own. But we don't have to be.

FLORA: So you want an alliance?

RINKAH: Yeah. We'll both be the chiefs of our tribe soon enough... And I think we'd benefit from closer contact. Mutual defenses.

RINKAH: If need be, we could call on your magic, and we'd give you our muscle in return. And it's never too early to forge an alliance when safety is at hand.

FLORA: Hmm... I can't say your offer isn't tempting... Protection is certainly something my tribe could use more of.

FLORA: You know, I think an alliance would be worth it.

RINKAH: Great! So, what, is there a way we do this? Do I need to write up a treaty? Or would sending you meat be enough?

FLORA: ...You don't know?

RINKAH: Give me a break! I've never done this before!

FLORA: Well... Usually there's the process of negotiaton, and learning about culture, and-

RINKAH: OK, great, great. I'll do it for the tribe. Just... You handle the planning, OK?
