We'll rip the bandaid off and start with Welch.

Now Playing - Wild Fight, No End in Sight

"There's all kinds of crazy rumors flying around, we can't confirm them, and the USTA's in a total panic, okay!? We hear the moonbase is gone, the Deputy Director's dead, nobody can get in contact with Commander Kenny's fleet...And that's not all! Some weird celestial object is supposed to be headed for Earth, and nobody knows what the heck's goin' on! It's completely and utter madness! You have no idea how busy I am! I don't even have time to slack off!"

But she does have time to panic in front of Edge.

"I see...So there's a panic back on Earth..."

"Come on, now, kid! How can you be so blase, here? Do something! And where exactly are you, anyway?"

"Right now, the Calnus is inside Nox Obscurus."

"Nox...who? What's that?"

"It's the most important link in the Missing Procedure's energy supply chain. If we can cut off the source here, it'll all be over."

" Speaking with you makes it seem like a crisis facing the entire universe isn't such a big problem at all."

"...Well, you're right about that.

Now Playing - Cosmic Voyagers (Peace & Love Mix)

"Edge..."

"That is, after we take our vacation."

"WHAT!?"

Before we get into the others, I'm going to detail a side quest. It's not overly important, but it does have voiced cutscenes and a unique boss fight, so I figure it merits mentioning. We could have attended to it earlier, but I figured it belonged here with the miscellaneous stuff, and I actually didn't end up doing it until after playing the rest of the game through.

After a banal quest in which you slay 30 Desert Ogres for Lias Warren, Edge ass kisser extraordinaire, he will ask you to go with him and his knights into a nearby cave, from within earthquakes are being sourced. He will rush ahead without you, leaving you to make your way in alone.

This was a location from Star Ocean 1. It connects Astral to Tatroi, but at least in this game you have the barge to use, so it's unnecessary to use the cave.

As you make your way forward, rocks will fall and bar your path, forcing you to take tedious ways around them.

This thing, called a Rock Hermit, makes up the sole unique enemy of the area. It's hard to blindside, and likes to cast symbols, but otherwise isn't threatening.

You can rescue this guy if you have the Earth Ring. He doesn't give you any unique rewards as far as I know.

This guy gives you something to bring to his wife, then appears to die. When you report to the wife, it turns out he's a big prankster and literally did this just to make a funny.

Anyway, at a certain point in the cave, we get a voiced cutscene.

Click here for a completely pointless cutscene.

"Try and stay as close to us as you can, okay, honey?"

"Yeah, I know, 'kay?"

Edge and Reimi move on as Lymle steps out of a spider's web.

Now Playing - Welcome to the Darkness

Lymle's attention is drawn to the sound of combat. Good job, Edge and Reimi, leaving Lymle to get distracted and wander.

Predictably, an enemy pops up behind Lymle as she waddles towards the fighting noises.

"Lymle, look out!"

Now Playing - The Eleventh Hour

The zombie swipes at Lymle, but she tumbles over, avoiding the blow.

"NOOOOOO!"

Edge and Reimi charge in to help. You'd think Reimi could just shoot the damn thing.

I'm reasonably sure Bacchus' voice actor does this knight too. He helps Lymle off the floor.

The one speaking is the one NOT voiced by Bacchus, on the right.

Bacchus Knight: "It is a knight's duty to protect the people. No thanks are necessary."

"I'm glad you're okay."

Reimi bows to the knights.

Not Bacchus Knight: "If it isn't Lord Edge Maverick. We are members of Sir Lias's company."

Bacchus Knight: "We must regroup with the rest of the company, so please excuse us."

The knights do a hand-on-heart salute, bow, and then run off.

And the scene ends there. Why did we even need to see this? Hell if I know.

Anyway, we continue on through this banal cave, until...

Click here for the cave's boss fight.

Now Playing - The Eleventh Hour

No effect.

This thing leaps into the air and slams into the ground.

It causes everyone to shudder and shake. We can safely say this is the source of the earthquakes.

The robot does another flying leap...

And pins Lias to the ground.

"Damn it!"

Random Knight: "Captain!"

"...Is this the end...!?"

Edge leaps in, stabs the robot, and leaps off.

This causes it to let Lias go.

"Oh! Master Edge!"

Lias gets up and nods at Edge, who nods back.

The Cave Guardian has a lot of annoying sweeping attacks, and is hard to blindside.

Of course, none of that matters because I attended to this quest on a post-game save and this thing stood no chance.

Sayeth Bacchus Knight.

Not Bacchus Knight: "My goodness, what a terrible beast it was."

"Don't mention it. I'm just glad you're safe. With the monster gone, your citizens should be able to sleep easy now."

Now Playing - Ladies and Gentlemen

"Please, could you stop that? I'm no hero."

"Ah, but you are, and you must become accustomed to it. Everyone will be calling you a hero now."

*Exasperated exhale*

"If you will excuse me, I must return to the castle at once and inform His Majesty of your most recent heroism."

"W-wait a minue, Sir Lias!"

End scene. You're left in the cave with no obvious way out. You can either go back the way you came, or go shortly forward and open up the Tatroi side of the cave. Either way, you have to return to Astral for your reward.

"I-I really don't think that's a great idea. If it were a girl, she'd have a really rough childhood..."

Why did we dedicate voice acting work to this pointless waste of time? Search me. I'd say it was a Star Ocean 1 reference, but I know it has nothing to do with what actually happened in that cave in the original. But it's over.

Now, I'm gonna go through the final scenes of each character in recruitment order. Hence we're starting with Reimi.

Reimi Scenes

Click here for Reimi's final PA.

"Reimi..."

"Up until so recently, the stars would fill the entire room...It was almost like you were actually out in space...Is the real universe going to disappear like this, too...? Will the Missing Procedure just obliterate everything...? Crowe risked his life to bring us this far...but do you really think we'll be able to stop that thing by ourselves...?"

"Of course we're going to stop it."

"Edge..."

"I'm here, you're here, we're all here. And we're the best team in the universe. If we can't stop the Missing Procedure, nobody can."

"Huh? That's what? Do we need anything else?"

" Edge, you... "

"Wh-what? What's so funny?"

"I'm sorry...I just suddenly felt so silly...I was always so worried, so hesitant...But you'd always help me along, lend me courage, cheer me up...Just...just by being there with me, you know? I don't know. You probably don't think it's much of anything at all, but..."

Now Playing - Peace of Mind

"You being there for me is the only reason I've been able to make it this far...The only reason I'm still alive...Thank you...Edge."

"Listen. It works both ways, Reimi...You've always supported me in your own way, and made me stronger."

Yeah, they kissed. ReimixEdge is confirmed OTP. Meracle is shaking and crying right now.

I'll note that Final Private Actions can't be seen unless you get enough affinity with each character, but also that Reimi's PA is the only one with an overtly romantic tone. Doesn't matter if you spurn Reimi, Edge won't make out with Meracle, Sarah, Myuria (but she will peck him on the cheek) or Lymle. And don't tell me they wouldn't have gone there, because they unashamedly depicted her kissing Faize.

And I should remind you we now know that wasn't just some random funnee, it was genuinely supposed to herald romantic affection between Faize and Lymle

"How could...? The Calnus is beyond repair..."

"...You see? Looks like the old bird wants to cheer you up, too. She wants us to save the universe."

"The universe...Yeah...We'll protect it, no matter what happens. So, Edge..."

"...?"

End scene.

But we're not done with Reimi content. Remember I mentioned that the Funereal Bouquets we got on En II would unlock scenes? It's time to have our first of those.

Funereal Bouquets are a bitch to make, though. They require ingredients only found in very small amounts from resource points in places like En II's sanctuary and on Roak in the middle of the desert. You get one free, but you'll need seven more to see every possible Bouquet scene.

Once you have a bouquet, you just have to go to a specific place to use it. The game doesn't actually make it clear that these places exist, but they're relatively intuitive, save a few.

Reimi's bouquet scene takes us to Aeos, and the ruins of the Exploration Base.

"Earthlings, I think...It just feels that way."

"I think so, too. Someone in the SRF must have built this...And now the person that built this grave is probably dead, too...All their hopes and dreams for outer space rest here on Aeos...It's just so...sad. All of their aspirations gone...Everything, gone..."

"...It's not all gone yet. We're still here, aren't we?"

"But we're not even..."

"It's true we've abandoned our status as SRF members. But we haven't abandoned our common hopes and dreams. Our hearts are with our friends, even now."

"Edge...You're right. Our status may have changed, but the feelings inside us haven't."

It's a bit small, but they've left a bouquet by this makeshift grave.

"Please, watch over us..."

Edge salutes.

"And wait for the day peace returns to the universe..."

Reimi salutes, and the scene ends.

You can click on the bouquet areas for a comment, but usually nothing interesting.

Lymle Scenes

Click here for Lymle's final PA.

"...Tricks?"

"He's a good boy. He won't be mean to anyone. Maybe if he learns some tricks, Faize will understand, too."

Now Playing - Whistle on the Wind (Tearful Mix)

"He won't...get mad..."

*Mobile Suit Ellipsis*

"...No, you're right. Teach him a whole bunch of tricks, and we'll show them to Faize when he gets back...okay?"

"...'Kay. That'll teach him, won't it. He'll have to say sorry to me and my doggie, 'kay?"

Cerberus gently bites Edge's hand and licks it.

"...Looks like this might take some time."

"...Yeah."

And end scene.

Naturally, Lymle's bouquet scene takes us to Lemuris.

"...You know, Grampa, I haven't been very sad about you lately...It's been a lot of fun riding with Edgie and his friends on their celestial ship...I still like you, Grampa, 'kay? I'm just...sorry..."

"Lymle..."

"I'm gonna go away again. We're gonna go get the bad guys, 'kay? If we don't take care of them, everything will come to an end. I'm really, really happy now. I don't want the happy times to end."

She says this despite the love of her life, Faize, being dead.

"And there are so many people I still wanna argue with...and play with...So...I'm gonna go, 'kay? Let's go, Edgie."

"...Yeah. Goodbye, Ghimdo. Let us look after your Lymle for a little while longer."

(Grampa...?)

(All that matters is your happiness...)

(Grampa...is that you?)

(I'm so proud to see you growing up. Now, go, Lymle...go and preserve that happiness.)

"Grampa...We're gonna do this, 'kay?"

"Lymle, what are you doing?"

"Talking to Grampa. He talked to me, so I talked back, 'kay?"

"...ooookay then."

"If Grampa can talk to me from the grave, then Faize probably can too, 'kay?"

"Let's forget about talking to dead people and go, okay?"

Lymle has some important scenes to see outside of PAs and bouquet scenes, too. Could have seen these earlier, but figured I'd leave them till now.

Note it says "acting oracle", because Lutea is replacing that one lady that died here way back when we first came to Alanaire Citadel.

"Mmrgh. You don't have to treat me like a little kid all the time, 'kay, Lutie?"

"I didn't think I was, but..."

"She's no bother at all, Lutea. In fact, Lymle's saved our skin more than a few times."

"See? Listen to Edgie, 'kay?"

Lymle starts wandering around during the scene.

"Oh, it's quite all right. I'm used to it."

"Have you known Lymle for a long time?"

"Yes, she was blessed with an aptitude for symbology at a very young age. One might call her...a prodigy."

"A prodigy..."

"Lym was the fastest in the village at learning symbols, and she'd often create new, unique ones all by herself. But...she'd also often get skittish, like she is now. Her teachers had a difficult time. Of course, I didn't mean to say she's a bad girl. Lym is straightforward, sensitive, and kind. It's just...she doesn't seem to do too well in a group setting. She's quite fond of her freedom and individuality. When others approached, she'd often retreat into her shell almost before you'd even notice..."

"...You must have been very concerned for her."

"It's not her fault she has such talent, nor that she is who she is. Unfortunately, most people don't seem to recognize that..."

*Zeta Ellipsis*

"...Anyway, please watch over her. When Lym's with you, she looks so happy, so radiant..."

"...We haven't been doing anything special. It's just that we enjoy Lymle's company very much. All of us feel the same way. That's all I can offer, but...Is it enough?"

"Of course it is."

"What's up, Lutie? You look kinda happy, 'kay?"

"It's nothing, little Lym. In any case, take care of yourself, all right?"

"Mm-hmm. You don't have to worry about me, 'kay? 'Cause I've got Edgie."

"Yes...you do."

And there it ends. But another one will play if we go out and come back.

"Yup. My doggie's always grr-ing real good, 'kay?"

Lymle starts wandering around again.

"Lutea, you know about Cerberus?"

"Lym disappeared once, a long time ago."

"Disappeared?"

"All the villagers helped to look for her, but she was nowhere to be found."

"...Really? What happened?"

"Th-the realm of...demons!?"

"I believe she must have formulated a symbol to open a gate to the demon realm, and entered it alone. When humans touch the demon realm, their hearts are gravely afflicted, and some lose their lives...But Lym suddenly came home one day, showing no such signs. She said she'd brought back a friend, from the realm of demons..."

"And that "friend" was..."

"Yes, it was Cerberus. It goes without saying that the people around her feared Cerberus, but Lym and the creature had become quite friendly..."

"I knew Lymle wasn't exactly a normal girl, but I had no idea she was this strong...She couldn't have known what kind of place this demon realm was...Yet she entered it all alone, and even brought back a companion...We've made friends with an incredible little girl, haven't we?"

"You...you'll still be her friend, won't you?"

"What?"

"She does have her peculiarities, but Lym's a good girl! Really, she is!"

"I-I know...We all do."

"Thank goodness...Please continue to watch over her. She can make quite a bit of trouble if you don't keep a good eye on her, but...Please, please, please...take care of her."

"O-of course, just leave it to us...Hah hah hah..."

"Why do you sound so nervous...?"

"I maaaaaay be planning to take her into battle against an unfathomable evil from beyond the dimensional boundaries."

"...I should have asked to take her away from you..."

Anyway, we FINALLY found out the reason why Lymle is the way she is. Granted, Lutea didn't say it herself, but Lymle's entry will update to say she didn't actually escape the demon realm unscathed;

"At the age of six, an errant symbol pattern she drew opened a portal to the demon realm, sending several decades' worth of hatred and fear flowing into her heart all at once. To keep herself from breaking down, she shut off all emotional outlets in response. Since then, she has not aged one bit, her body and behavior frozen at a state of being six years old."

That's our explanation. Funnily enough, seeing as she went to the demon realm, she could have met Asmodeus, the dude from Roak/Star Ocean 1.

Bacchus Scenes

"Not at all. I have just completed my maintenance."

"Was there something wrong?"

"All operations are normal. I have no problems to speak of."

"Good, I'm glad. We couldn't lose you too, Bacchus..."

"You needn't worry, Mr. Edge. I am with you until the end."

"Don't forget you still have a wife waiting for you back home."

"...Please do not speak of her. I do not know why, but my emotion circuitry becomes unstable."

"That must be kind of hard, no?"

"Not at all. I have lived with this body for a long time. I am well versed in its handling...Were you perhaps wondering about it, Mr. Edge?"

"Uh, no...I'm sorry..."

"There is no need to apologize. I have never sought to hide it...It was merely one of those accidents that happen so often during scientific experiments. As an element of my Morphus duty, I once wandered the galaxy harvesting viruses for research. I became infected with one of those viruses following a minor accident, and my flesh began to petrify."

"Petrify!?"

"The virus originated as the stone sickness from Roak. During my research, it began to mutate. Conventional remedies were useless against the strain I was infected with. Nor could Morphus technology halt its advance. To think billions of years of development would be meaningless in the face of an illness remedied by a few plants... I abandoned a biological body fast failing to petrification, transfered my brain into this one, and escaped the jaws of death."

"So that's why you seemed to know so much about the stone sickness back on Roak..."

"The Morphus have the ability to generate living tissue, but I insisted on keeping this cold, steel body. I judged that a body built for battle would be more effective in my pursuit of the Grigori."

"Bacchus..."

"Yet if we stop the Missing Procedure, so do we stop the Grigori. I will have no more use for this body."

"What...?"

"I believe I will return to my original body. Living the life that remains to me in tranquillity would not be such a bad thing."

"You mean...for your wife?"

"...I am a man as cold as this steel body of mine. My thoughts and actions are based purely on logic. She should have forgotten a man like me, but instead she has suffered many long years alone. I only hope I will be able to reciprocate such devotion."

"...I guess you really don't notice these things on your own. You've got plenty of heat yourself, Bacchus."

"...? What did you say?"

"...Never mind. It's nothing."

And we're done.

Bacchus' bouquet scene takes place in En II's hangar, where the Calnus once docked.

"According to Mr. Giotto, seventy percent of the Morphus fleet was wiped out during the battle. It is only logical the dock should be so empty."

"This was a huge sacrifice...too huge..."

"Preservation of peace in the universe is the duty of the Morphus. Sacrifices for that ideal are unavoidable. All of my comrades were fully prepared to fall to achieve that ideal. Therefore, we need not mourn. I am certain they were all accepting of their own fates."

"That may be true, but...but...!"

"...Or so the old Bacchus would have said."

"What...?"

"I can no longer stomach the deaths of my comrades. I will not deny our duty, but I do not want to see any more of my comrades die. I will do whatever is necessary to realize that wish. I want my comrades to live in a peaceful universe. Not for their duty, but for themselves..."

"Bacchus..."

"I am grateful for having met you, Mr. Edge. You have taught me much."

Another hard to see bouquet has been placed.

"Of course, Bacchus. Anyone can live life for themselves in this great universe of ours, and that's why we're going to protect it."

"Indeed."

End scene.

Meracle Scenes

In order to see one of Meracle's end game scenes, we must first talk to Eleyna and complete a quick quest for her. She sends us to kill some Gerel pallet swaps on top of her lair. By this point, they're effortlessly easy to beat.

Upon returning, she gives us a Recipe Memo as a reward, as well as generic quest experience and SP. If you leave and come back, however...

Click here to witness the horror of Meracle feasting.

"No, I merely got carried away and made a bit too much."

Meracle tries to touch the food, but seems to think she's not allowed and holds back.

Now Playing - Good Morning, Miss Vineyard

"Thanks a lot!"

"Yummy!"

"It's quite fine. Far too much food for one person...Well? Does it agree with you?"

"Yup! It's uber-delicious! I didn't know you could cook, Lady Eleyna!"

"I can do anything, you know."

"You'd really make a great wife for someone, Lady Eleyna!"

Because we all know that's the function of women who cook. Wifery and mothery.

Eleyna desires to be the craziest of cat ladies and have Meracle in her house full time.

"I could totally eat this every day!"

"Klaus...Eleyna...It seems like everyone Meracle gets attached to are genuinely good people..."

Meracle continues her demented devouring for a bit, and then the scene ends. This one we could've actually seen before heading for Nox Obscurus, but I recorded it now and it's better in with this lot.

Meracle's ACTUAL final PA takes place in Tropp on the dock.

Click here for Meracle's final PA.

"I think I know this place..."

"We've been to Tropp a few times now, Meracle."

"No, not like that!"

"Huh?"

"I remember the sound of the waves...That's right, when I was younger..."

Now Playing - Whistle on the Wind (Solo I)

I'm reminded that in Infinite Undiscovery, they actually had a bunch of flute tunes, both long ones for cutscenes and short ones for Capell using them as a technique. Last Hope has one ocarina song for this whole game. I guess it's because the flute was meant to be a big deal in InfUnd, but still.

"Meracle..."

"Hey, maybe you really were born on Roak, after all?"

"Hmm, maybe I was, maybe I wasn't...It feels right, but not completely...I just don't know..."

"Hmm..."

Because we can't have a Meracle scene without this holy cow being involved. If I had to pick between the two, I'd choose Eleyna, but we have to have BOTH of them. Oy.

"I'm terribly sorry to disappoint you!"

"I'm praising you. Learn to take things at face value, alleycat. You could be a fisherwoman without ever setting foot on a boat."

"You call that praise!?"

*Gasp!*

"Just keep playing your song to this sea. Evenutally, your melodies will reach the places you wish them to."

"Is that...another augury?"

"Perhaps. Think of it what you will."

Eleyna walks away.

"...She's not the easiest person to be around, is she?"

"...Maybe not, but Lady Eleyna really is amazing. Somehow she just managed to make me feel better."

Meracle picks up playing where she left off, and the scene ends.

Meracle's bouquet scene takes us once again to Eleyna.

*Double Zeta Ellipsis*

"Hmm...Did a rat steal your food, perhaps? Or bite your tail? Heh heh. Either way, how very like an alleycat."

"Stop it! Stop teasing me! I've been through a lot, you know, meow!"

"Hmph. Your spark is still there, after all. How anticlimactic."

"Um, excuse me, Eleyna, but...I'd be grateful if you didn't push Meracle's buttons too hard right now..."

"...What happened?"

"...I can't really get into details, but...a lot of people died."

"Huh..."

"It was a huge shock to her...Meracle's had too many experiences with people dying to save her life, so..."

"The people from the ship I stowed away on...the Professor...they all died protecting me...If I have to see even one more person die like this, I don't wanna do anything at all, ever again!"

"Meracle..."

"Hmm...I see you have just the thing, stripling."

"Just the thing...? You mean these flowers?"

"Exactly. Come along, alleycat."

"Huh...?"

"O-okay..."

"Lives that are lost use the flowers as a landmark, return home to the ocean, and are thus reborn...So goes the Astralian legend."

*Ellipsis Counterattack*

"Will no one throw flowers into the star ocean?"

"Oh..."

"Grieving for lost lives is pure and just. But remaining forever in your grief will cause new lives to be wasted. If you've lost as many lives as you say, alleycat, then go, and throw your flowers into the star ocean."

"Throw my...flowers?"

"Right. The irreplaceable flowers that represent peace. You must do it for the lives that are gone, as well as for unborn lives yet to come."

"Eleyna...do you somehow know everything about us...?"

"Heh heh. Who can say? Perhaps this isn't an augury. Perhaps it's just another piece of advice from a pretentious fortuneteller."

"...Okay, I get it. I'm gonna go bring peace to the universe! For all the precious, precious lives, everywhere!"

"Heh. Now, that's the spark I'm used to. That's the little alleycat I have so much fun teasing."

"Tee-hee. Hey, Edge!"

"What's up?"

"Eleyna here might really be Lady Eleyna!"

"Yeah, she might be. She might very well be the Lady Eleyna you know, Meracle."

"Hmm?"

End scene.

Myuria Scenes

Click here for Myuria's final PA.

"But, it's not just the Morphus...Many Earthlings and Eldarians have perished as well..."

"...Yeah, they have. And every one of them fought so bravely..."

"I'm sure they each had something they wanted to protect. That's why they risked their lives...Just like...my Lucien."

"Myuria, your husband..."

"To be honest, I still haven't gotten over his death...but now I finally know why Lucien did what he did. Just like all the other brave warriors who've fallen in this battle...he risked his life for something he wanted to protect. I find that so noble, so beautiful..."

"Myuria..."

"...I'm not going to die. No way."

Now Playing - Ruin and Creation (Monologue Mix)

"Until now, I'd been completely neglecting my own life. I thought it wouldn't matter if I died, as long as I had my revenge. But...meeting you and your friends, traveling with you...I've learned to stay positive and move forward. I'm going to live. I will live, and I will end this. I won't let anyone else feel the pain of losing someone."

Not that stopping the Missing Procedure will actually accomplish that. Still plenty of threats in the universe.

"Then, when it's all over, I'm going to grant Lucien's wish. I'm going to be happy. Thank you...I owe you and your friends."

"Myuria...you really are a strong, good woman."

"Oh? You're just noticing that now?"

"You know, SEXUALLY!"

"Hey, if you think I'm good enough for ya."

She is pulling on his ear.

"To be honest, I was almost tempted for a moment. But I'm afraid you're still a million light years out of my league. Don't worry, though-I'm going to find my own happiness, by myself. I just want you to make some lucky girl you care about happy, boy. And we all know which girl I mean."

"Myuria..."

"Once you've managed to accomplish that, then I'll admit you're a boy no longer. All right? We're going to be happy, so let's both get out of this alive...No matter what."

And we're done.

Myuria's bouquet scene takes place in the graveyard on En II.

*War in the Ellipsis*

*The 08th Ellipsis Team*

"...Well, then. I'll be going, Lucien. See you later."

"...Are you sure?"

"Yes. I've spoken with him enough. And I'll be back, in any case. Or were you planning to take us to our deaths?"

"Of course not! I'm...we're all coming back."

"Exactly, boy. And that's just what I came to tell Lucien. I'll be back, Lucien. And once I return, then finally..."

Well that one was mercifully short.

Sarah Scenes

Click here for Sarah's final PA.

Sarah's final PA awaits at the original landing spot of the Calnus.

"Huh? "Be with you"? Where are we going?"

Sarah walks away.

"Hey, are you sure you understand this properly!? I'm the one Reimi's going to flip out at!"

And cut.

"I practiced my running so much, but... it looks like I failed again."

"Huh...?"

"Well, after we leave here, we're all going to go beat Mrs. Procedure, aren't we?"

"Mrs. Procedure...? W-well, yeah, although it's more like stopping rather than beating..."

"And once we've wrapped that up, Edge...you'll be going back to your own world, right?"

"Well, I..."

Now Playing - Cosmic Voyagers (Spring Wind Mix)

*Ineffectuall pantywaist groan*

"As long as I'm going to have to say farewell to you all, I wanted to leave you with a good impression, you know? But I suppose I'll give up for now."

"Sarah..."

"When everything is over, I'm going to keep on practicing. Then, when I learn how to fly..."

"It might take a little while, but one day I promise I'll come to see you."

"Thank you."

And thar she ends.

To see Sarah's bouquet scene, we must talk to the King of Astral. No idea how you'd guess this.

"Yes, well, I come with a letter for you from the chief of our enclave. I'm afraid I had completely forgotten about it until just recently, but now I've remembered, so I've come to deliver it."

(Will that kind of flimsy excuse fly...? And a letter from the Featherfolk chief...Wouldn't that be an official missive?)

"I see. It happens often, does it not? Do not trouble yourself over the matter, Lady Sarah."

(It happens...often!?)

"Tell me, what does your letter say?"

(You can't give a sovereign lord the GIST! If only we weren't in the middle of a royal audience, I'd...)

"Ummm...Sarah has reached fifteen years of age. I've made her our goodwill ambassador, so please be nice to her. That's basically what it says."

(That's the entire gist!? And...fifteen!? How long were you just sitting on an official letter of state, Sarah!?)

Sarah is 19, so she had this letter in her pocket for four years.

"I see. I have heard and acknowledged your letter. Our friendship with the Sacred Wings continues."

(That was good enough for the king!?)

"Yes, it seems a little late for me to be bringing you this message now, but I hope our people can be friends for many years to come."

(And whose fault is it the message was late..? This conversation is giving me a headache...Is everyone on Roak this tolerant? Or maybe this is just how you get when you've known Sarah for a while...)

"Please accept these flowers as a token of apology for forgetting the letter, and as a symbol of our friendship, good king."

"S-Sarah, those are...!"

"Is something amiss, Master Edge?"

"Oh, uh, no, sire, it's nothing..." (Look at what you're holding, Sarah! Those are mouning flowers! You can't present them to a king!)

"Tee-hee. You're so silly, Edge."

"Ah...such fine flowers, so beautiful...Lady Sarah, I vow on this wonderful bouquet that Astral shall continue its deep friendship with the Featherfolk."

"That would make us very happy. I feel so proud to be our goodwill ambassador."

"As long as you are with us, Lady Sarah, peace and security between Astral and the Featherfolk is ensured. I am certain the name of Lady Sarah, goodwill ambassador, will be graven into the histories of both our peoples."

Unfortunately, considering Star Ocean 1...

"It is a great honor, good king."

*Mobile Fighter G Ellipsis*

"My goodness. You got that tired from just standing there, Edge? You must need exercise."

(Hmm, and I wonder how I got to be this tired...) "Uggggh..."

"...?"

Scene over.

Arumat Scenes

"Nothing, really. I've just come to try and convince you one last time."

"I thought you were just an unusual idiot, but now I see you're an unusual stubborn idiot."

"...You don't want me here?"

"...No, I don't. I haven't long to live. Should I begin to feel emotion for you people, the end would not be pretty."

"Arumat...then...! What's that...?"

"...I was still a boy. Seventeen. Our unit was attacked by an unknown enemy, and I was the only survivor. All that remained to me was revenge...My body was no longer anything but a tool of war. I neutered my lifespan to achieve the ultimate weapon. A fighting machine...? A living corpse...? Yes, something like that. I've been dead since I was seventeen. But the irony is severe...by abandoning life to fight, I've only learned to feel it more strongly. Now I feel life as I've never felt it before. Do you know why?..The unknown enemy that killed my brethren. Phantoms."

"You've been chasing the Phantoms all this time...?"

"Fighting the Phantoms is the reason I exist. And finally, I am here...Here, to thrust the point of Death's scythe into the bare throat of evil. I've never felt such a lust for life...! I won't ask you to understand, but know this. Right now, I burn with life stronger than anyone else alive. I will not lose that fire merely to extend my life."

"Wh-what about after we've stopped the Missing Procedure...!?"

"When all is said and done, I'll go on to meet my brethren. I'll finally be able to see them with my head held high. Don't try to take that from me."

"Arumat...So...what are we supposed to do? We want you to stay alive! We're your friends-what are we supposed to do!?"

"...My mind is set."

"Arumat!"

"But...I am grateful."

"...?"

"I'm grateful for having met new friends on the way to death. For a journey to hell...it wasn't so bad."

"...I can't stop you, can I...?"

"No one can force you to live any differently, either. It's the same. But... Your naive way of thinking almost affected even me. My plans will not change. But until this life of mine is finally snuffed out...I'll be your friend, Edge."

"...Glad to hear it."

End edgy scene.

Arumat's bouquet scene awaits us on Aeos, where we recruited him.

"...They may have escaped the desctruction of Eldar, but they couldn't escape the Phantoms' guns."

"How horrible...to come so far..."

"...The complete annihilation of foes in battle is a tenet of war."

"You can't mean that! This is an Eldarian ship!"

"...I would have done the same. On the field of battle, kill or be killed is the rule...But that only applies to those who wield force and choose to fight."

"Arumat..."

"...No one bearing any pride could gun down civilians without even the means to protect themselves..."

"...You're right. I'm sorry I jumped to conclusions."

*Ellipsis Wing*

It's even harder to see, but a bouquet has been placed.

"I was too weak..."

*Ellipsis SEED*

"Brethren...curse me. The right is yours. I curse my own destiny in turn, and pledge my being to the eradication of the Phantoms. You shall be avenged. Forget your pain now, and sleep in peace..."

You may have noticed I mentioned there were 8 bouquet scenes, and we only saw 7. There's another to be seen, but that will be in the next update.
