Camilla x Oboro B

Music: Shine in the Light

CAMILLA: ...Excuse me. Oboro?

OBORO: Huh? Ca-L-Lady Camilla?

OBORO: I was actually, um... About to seek you out.

OBORO: I know I made a scene the other day-

CAMILLA: Don't worry about it, dear. I...understand why you had such a reaction.

OBORO: No... I was out of line. Lord Takumi agreed.

OBORO: So... I apologize. And if there's something I can do to make up for it... Within reason.

CAMILLA: ... If you feel comfortable, perhaps... Could you tell me about her?

OBORO: "Her?"

CAMILLA: Your mother, if you'd indulge me. I'd like to hear more about her.

CAMILLA: It seems like you and her were very close.

OBORO: I-I mean... Yes, we were. As close as any mother and daughter.

CAMILLA: ...

OBORO: I don't understand why you'd want to hear about this... I was still young when she and Father died. I looked up to her.

OBORO: I remember that she was kind...

OBORO: I remember that she cared about me and Father, very much. She... She was dedicated to tailoring. Both my parents were.

OBORO: I saw how it brought them closer together... It brought me closer to them, too.

OBORO: I still remember when she taught me to sew... Gods, I learned so much.

OBORO: Most of what I know came from her.

OBORO: She had a huge protective streak, too.

OBORO: She wasn't the best fighter... But she'd always throw herself into danger if it'd keep someone else safe. Even if she didn't know them...

OBORO: At least, that's what people say. I never really experienced that myself. Maybe that's where I got it from...

OBORO: Gods, I-I really loved her...

CAMILLA: ...I'm terribly sorry she was taken from you so early.

CAMILLA: She sounds like the perfect mother.

OBORO: Shut it, Camilla. That's the last thing I need to hear.

CAMILLA: Oh, dear... My apologies. Is that a sensitive area?

OBORO: I... Sorry. Yeah, it is.

OBORO: I... I really resent it, in hindsight. That she seems so perfect to me. I was a kid. All I could see was the good in my parents, you know?

OBORO: I wish she'd been around long enough for me to see her flaws. She was a full person who I never got to meet.

CAMILLA: ...You should consider it a blessing that you can remember her so fondly.

OBORO: Excuse me?

CAMILLA: Never mind. I think I've heard enough.

CAMILLA: She must have been a lovely woman...

CAMILLA: I'm glad you got that love, even if it was cut tragically short. Thank you for taking the time to tell me about her.

OBORO: ...
