Well, I remembered to check the shop this time, at least. Not really much of note here, though; I'll just grab Thunderbolt and leave for now- I'll come back for Salamander when I've got more vendor trash.

At least Surcoats have one good use, though! I mean, selling for 750 is better than Forget-Me-Nots, which are only worth 50, right?

Oh yeah, Invisible Men have drops too, I forgot to check last time I came through here. These mushrooms are perfectly safe, for the record.

They also drop Jonathan's first shoes for the seed, which, again, are better than nothing.

Okay, back to the checkpoint. This... meh.

And this is garbage.

Oh, and it turns out I don't actually have the ability to order my partner to stay yet (presumably that thing with the statue worked because I was still close enough not to trigger the partner's movement script), but I do have the ability to summon them to use subweapons, which I combine with Thor's Bellow (my slowest-casting spell at the moment) to improvise my way through this room. This may not technically be in logic, but that wouldn't stop a speedrunner, and it won't stop me.

There's also a breakable ceiling in here, but I can't reach it yet; I just Stone Circle it open after my ride crashes so it shows on my minimap so I (hopefully) don't forget.

Anyway, a couple screens right of the sudden stop at the end of that hallway, I find some dessert.

Well, I'm sure there're uses for this, but in my mind if you've got time and MP to cast this you've got time and MP to shoot back and reduce incoming attacks by killing your attackers. Hell, the one thing I could see you wanting it for isn't possible because Charlotte needs to cast a different spell there.

Found one of the "Circus from Hell" themed areas next to an actually-accessible breakable ceiling. Still not going in yet, because I have more I can do here.

Inside that breakable ceiling is an accessory which would be a lot better if it didn't have a negative Str modifier. Or, y'know, if I could actually build up some money to power its ability...

The local boss is Dullahan. He doesn't particularly like getting struck by lightning, as you'd expect from an armored giant wielding a lance.

The immediate reward is worthless to me.

Consumable in a secret room along the exit path.

I'll get that when I can fly.

Crap. (Again, I'll go in the back when I get the ability to.)

I mentioned before that this seed's City of Haze has a better room for subweapon grinding than that Wight at the entrance, right? Here it is- the best grinding room in the area. There're better rooms elsewhere, admittedly, but I haven't reached them yet.

The MP boost to the left is a nice bonus. Anyway, I grind up Ricochet Rock and Charlotte's spells here, but I'll hold off on Jonathan's awkward subweapons until I reach the best room in the seed.

Oh, and some new shoes at the top of the room above that grind spot. Charlotte gets them for now, but when I get something new for her Jonathan can use 'em too.

I swear that there're portraits outside this chain in this seed! ...admittedly they're kind of in the minority, but still!

Anyway, left of that portrait and carriage I find this thing. It's... okay, I guess? I tried it in my test run, and honestly it feels more awkward than a Valman-weapon should to me.

There's my flight (which also allows me to enter narrow passages like the one where I found the Pearl Ring), directly below a second copy of a subweapon I started with. Back to pick up the stuff I couldn't get before.

This randomizer loves rocket punches, doesn't it?

Utter garbage. The only stat they give is luck.

I will never have any occasion to use that Whip Skill, because I will never use a whip that acts like a whip again.

The Boomerang... is a bit awkward, IMO, but nowhere near as bad as the ones I'm procrastinating on right now. Gimme a bit to grind it up, and...

Last up on the mop-up agenda: The ceiling in the drill cart room.

Too bad both items here are garbage.

From here I've got three portraits I can enter in Haze, but this update's getting long enough, and they're all conveniently near warp rooms anyway so I'll just pull out for now.

Told ya that there were portraits outside the City of Haze chain! That smoke around it, for the record, means I need to clear another portrait to access this one, which means this is Burnt Paradise, and the one in City of Haze is Nation of Fools.

Yes, I'm saving here at the end of three updates in a row. Deal with it- it's convenient.
