Turns out I left off directly beneath Dario. He's annoying (half because he won't stop laughing, half because he teleports), but not too much of an issue. ...well, okay, he left me half-dead, but still- any fight you can walk away from, right?

Dropped by a Ghoul, I'm pretty sure. It'll give me more range if I use it, at least? It's basically a subweapon that doesn't cost MP...

Killed a Fleaman through the wall, which gives me more Yoko magic to play with.

Meanwhile, the Ghoul gives me the answer to the question of what the most useless soul I could use against Dmitrii later could be.

And another useless accessory, but those don't really count.

It'd be easier to farm them if that wall wasn't in the way (or, in hindsight, if I was smart enough to go somewhere else, since this isn't the only Ghoul spawner), but judging from the map I'll need to do an excessive side trip all the way through the Clock Tower to get to the other side to open it. Ah, well, off to do the rest of this area.

Awesome. This simplifies exploration a lot.

The Chapel's entry has some fruit. These used to be my favorite fruit, for the record.

Mini Devils give different scorpion tails.

Witches, meanwhile, appear to have an archery hobby, judging from the bow I stole from them.

Ghost Dancers give on-the-go healing. Not sure if useful; I may or may not get back to you on that.

Contrasting their elegant appearance, though, they drop ramen.

Amalaric Snipers drop a buff soul which will never see real usage because if you've got the MP to use a buff soul you've got the MP to cast more spells.

Also, said buff soul takes forever to actually collect, because the monster that drops it in vanilla is miles away.

No wonder this crap's in the corner- it must be grounded for sucking so much.

The Dancers also drop a newspaper clipping. I'd need the Waiter Skeleton soul to do anything with this.

Cool, a soul stand gives me Paranoia! (Bet you never expected to read that sentence...)

Bone Pillars drop antidotes...

...and a familiar. Hey, wait a minute, this familiar actually makes sense! ...and is that a miniature Soma riding the thing? I just noticed that.

Another stand directly below Paranoia gives me a dash soul. Cheap one, too. Too bad I'm not a speedrunner.

And the White Dragon guarding Black Panther gives damage resistance.

...This is an incredible drop from Guillotiners. Though would you believe me if I said that I'm pretty sure this is a downgrade from the Valkyrie soul in Aria? Pretty sure this thing's hitbox is about half as big, and it doesn't seem to hit below you at all...

The bottom of the area gives me the ability to sink like a rock (important because half the castle is underwater), and a quick dive into the mirror gives me another newspaper clipping.

Since I happened to be passing by a warp room anyway, might as well make a quick side trip to the entrance (aka Lost Village) to pick up the item in the mirror. It kinda sucks, though...

And drop in on Hammer to see if he's restocked.

New items: High Mind Up, Mana Prism, Corn Soup, Piroshki, Paella, Magical Tickets, another newspaper clipping, Hrunting, Spear, Morgenstern, Death Scythe, Three 7s, Silk Robe, Serenity Robe, Skull Necklace, Scarf, Silver Stud, and Lucky Charm. Kind of a long list, really... and I'm assuming he didn't add anything I found lying around, too.

Great Armors teach me to throw around gigantic balls of pure suffering. Neat!

The Valkyrie in the next room just lets me start miniature tornadoes. Lame.

She does drop a half-decent sword, though. Unfortunately, it's outclassed by quite a few other weapons I've got lying around.

That's kinda important. I need it to unlock the good ending.

Tombstones have Yoko's last spell engraved on them, apparently.

Big bag of cash in the belfry.

Dmitrii's here, by the way. He starts with the Malachi soul (aka Nightmare) copied, but switches to whatever red soul you used on him last. Thus, Une + SWORD CANNON = cheesed boss.

Some people prefer to make him use this one instead, though, since he can't slide and thus can't use it to its full potential.

Anyway, killing (for now) one of the major antagonists seems like a good place to end the update, don't you think?
