Do you think the Gorons will notice that I looted the place while they were learning to exist?

Anyway, a quick Bombchu to open the way in, and...

The maze chests are a moss-covered skull and an ascended glitch...

...while the local spider has a boss key. Gonna need more of these, but this isn't quite what I'm looking for.

Don't know if that fairy comes with a bottle yet. The walled-off spider has a PoH for the game it's actually in (for a change), and I could really use a reload with all the Bombchus I'm going through here.

Took me a bit to find this chest (under the cliff leading to the crater, behind a bombable wall just at the start of the path to Goron City, for the record), but it unlocks a check... eventually. When I find that scientist.

Dodongo entrance leads to Forest, for future reference. Doesn't seem to be anything to do here, either.

...oh wait, I can clear out this room. Not much here, but that's two checks, at least.

Putting off DMC because A: I need to reload my Bombchus anyway (since they're basically my only weapon right now), and B: I can never dodge those boulders from the eruption, and I'm pretty sure they'll destroy my shield (which will make me need to bomb things even more than I already do).

Anyway, in a desperate attempt to find progression somewhere that isn't gated behind losing my currently-irreplaceable shield, I head back to Lake Hylia to kill a spider I forgot about before. To my complete lack of surprise, though, it turns out to be worthless.

I'm even willing to break logic by chicken-ing my way into Zora's Domain to try to keep my shield.

First off, check the shop. I don't need the Deku Nuts (especially since this shop is right next to a jar full of them), but I might as well pick up everything else, including the Nejiron soul. Doesn't really help me, though.

This is a convenient place to farm up Deku Sticks, too, so I do that before doing the other checks here. Zora Diving yields a skull he fished up, and the torches give a Woodfall Fairy. As I expected, King Mweep is nowhere to be seen.

Off to the Fountain; this is pretty much my last hope for avoiding DMC. Not a very big one, since it's only one check I can do here, but still.

...I guess Jabu's already here mostly because he's a dungeon. I can't get in to check which one because I don't have any fish yet.

Nope. Key rings are nice, but not remotely what I'm looking for. Ah, well, at least it's pretty much down to Hammer, Hookshot, Red Shirt, and location to full-clear it now.

Well, off to the Crater. Under protest, of course; I'm pretty sure I've amply demonstrated that I wouldn't do this if I had any choice in the matter by now.

Much to my surprise, though, the boulders don't destroy my shield despite being blatantly on fire. They do leave me on the brink of death, though... my HP suck.

Anyway, the spider in the crate at the entrance has more keys, which're pretty worthless to me right now. As is the chest under the local boulder.

The cranny in the wall under me takes a bit of finagling to collect in time, but it isn't progression (even if it's potentially useful since it's been modded to work like the MM version- if nothing else it makes reaching the Crater less of a death sentence). I've only got 24 seconds here at max health, so I need to save and quit to get out without dying.

After that, I go back to check the local Scrub (because I still don't actually have progression); he's not very helpful either.

...am I gonna have to dive Majora for progression?

...All signs point to "yes" since there's nothing left available to me right now in OoT; everything needs either NPCs or specific enemies. And as I've already mentioned, most of them don't exist yet.

Appropriately enough, the portal to transition between games is the Mask Shop in OoT and the Clock Tower base in MM.

Immediately on transition I am given a heart piece for the game I just left. Gee, thanks, just what I was looking for.

...Now comes the hard part- I'm not familiar with MM, and I'm on a time limit. Blech.

The Octorok Shooting Gallery takes a few tries (and I even need to resort to frame advance) since I'm really not good at snap-shooting (and the game is, quite frankly, BS on top of that), but I get Majora Keese and a Great Bay Fairy.

Now that that debacle's over, I should check the local shop, since it actually exists. Guy's got two Slingshots, which is great because that gives OoT another way to kill things for whenever there are things to kill.

Also, Ruto's here, as well as Majora Octoroks and the Stone Tower Boss Key. Lucrative!

Bomberman next door has some pretty good stuff too; Hylian Shield and Requiem? Gimme! (I'm 1 Rupee short for buying everything, but that's easily fixed.)

Hide-and-seek gives me a piece of heart that's actually for this game. (Note to self: Bomber code is 13254.)

Skull #11 in the sewers.

I get ambushed with a heart on my way to the Laundry Pool to get my first Majora shield.

A quiver's up a tree in North Clock Town; always handy if you don't wanna run out.

The local Tingle, meanwhile, has a broken sword and a pirate's skull.

Keaton Quiz gives a whole bunch of sludge... blech(?). ...Actually, what flavor are these things? Chuchu flavor, obviously, but is that fruity, meaty, sour, or just nauseating?

The Scrub minigame (day 1) just gives a skull. I'd need to come back once a day to get the other prize, and I've got too much to do to wait for that.

And finally, the chests at the southernmost corners of South and East Clock Town respectively yield more spinning (easy when your current value is 0) and another skull for the throne.

I'd prefer to go back to OoT for a bit, but I'm already in Majora; either way, I'll be making more progress next time. Which game probably depends on which one it loads me into next time I play.
