Stage 2 of Puzzle Robo is an easy one if you properly look at the enemy’s attack ranges. The grounded Invader has 3 attacks and its strongest one is range 1-3. Gyunei and Uso have about half HP and would die from its strongest attack (Uso’s Focus does nothing here). It’ll survive a single attack and neither unit has Support Attack. Can’t fish for a crit either since there’s no RNG in these puzzles.
The Jagd Doga has a post move attack at range 4, so move it 4 spaces from the Invader and attack. Because the Invader has to use its less powerful attacks, Gyunei survives and Uso can swoop in for the kill. Stage complete.
Our reward is 5k money and the Emergency Food power part. It’s a consumable restores a unit’s SP. Might be useful later in the game…
This intermission, all I did was put a single point into the Aile Chevalier’s weapons. They are the most expensive upgrades. I’m not confident enough yet to kill the retreating Daltanious bosses, but we should have the firepower soon enough.

That’s right. After the coup, they started selling only to us.
OZ’s mobile suit development is done on the surface by a Foundation related company. Anaheim’s higher ups probably hated the thought of being acquired by them. Either way, if Anaheim sides with us, other corporations will be forced to take action.

We’ve got the lunar city in a pincer-ish position. Epyon and Ra Cailum to the north east and everyone else to the south east. The best thing to do is to make our way into the city and use its beneficial terrain (again, 30% def/eva and 20% hp/en regen) to our advantage. We’re fighting OZ mobile suits this time. Of note the Libras and Libra IIs sport the Planetary Defensor ability, which reduces beam damage by a lot. Try to not use beam weapons against them and they’ll go down easy enough. The Libra IIs inside the city do have that beneficial terrain so try to kill them one at a time in a single turn.
Slight correction to something I said in a previous post. Quess’ Jagd Doga’s gatling gun still counts as a beam attack, not physical. Didn’t even notice it until now somehow. Already made the change to its unit profile.
Another thing to note is that we’re fighting on the moon! It’s like fighting on land except units who are flying are considered being in space for terrain purposes. But units who cannot fly cannot be above the ground, so there’s not much difference there. Just make a mental note of that for the future.

The Cosmo Crusher is the first purely support unit we get. It can fight somewhat, but its main purpose is to house a butt load of pilots (5) and resupply allies. Resupply lets you regain all the ammo and EN of an adjacent ally unit at the cost of said unit losing 10 will. Also it can’t be used post movement. Useful for long battles and if you don’t want to spend an entire turn inside a battleship. At this stage when there’s not that many units, the extra attacking unit is more helpful, but as you get more and better units the support-ness of the Cosmo Crusher will be more useful.
Don’t really have anything to say about the pilots. They’ll all get support related spirits eventually.

Welcome to an annoying tendency of SRW games: Enemy reinforcements after you think you’ve cleared the map. Thankfully these Zaalian mooks have one fatal weakness… They’re not sitting on top of some broken terrain! The best strategy is to have all your units sit on top of the lunar city and wait for them to run into your sword.
I get to use the Ra Cailum’s Nuclear Missile MAP attack! Just look at that range and damage. Only got 1 ammo and a large will requirement though.
No boss dialog this time around. No one really cares about ol’ Boider. He does retreat at low HP and, at the time of me playing this, I didn’t have the time or patience to fish for a crit.
