Now for the events of the previous stage if you chose Rim as your main character. The only real difference from Josh’s story you should know is that Josh was sent to Antarctica with Cliff instead of Rim. The majority of the dialog is the same as Josh’s version, but the differences are huge, so this gets its own chapter. Some screenshots will be reused as the chapter is mostly identical for the gameplay side. The plot is what’s important here.

Low mobility but since it relies only on ammo, you can save money by ignoring its EN upgrades. It’s also really long ranged. Give it the Giant Magazine power part as soon as you can and it’ll make it probably the best support attacker in the game. Trowa is also great, though not as busted as he is in like A Portable.

The aerial based Spazer. You don’t want to use it by itself. Combining it with Grendy is its best use.

For being the ground based Spazer, it can’t touch the ground. That should tell you how useful it is. Combine it, same as the other Spazers. At least Maria has great support spirits and you can move her to another Mazinger/Grendizer machine.


[Grendizer DS & Grendizer WS]
Out of these two remaining combinations, the Double Spazer is the clear winner. The Drill Spazer version lacks Grendy’s finisher, the Double Haken. Just as a heads up, combining with the Spazers basically gives Grendizer a second health bar and pilot, so they are useful. Also the Spazer’d Grendy only sees upgrades from Grendizer, so there’s no point in upgrading the Spazers unless you want them to fight solo.


BESPA is on the other side of a river so it’ll take a few turns for them to get to you. If you rush them, you can kill their bosses for extra exp and power parts before the next stage event happens.
