Last time, we punched a magician in the face.
[GEAR HQ, Command Room]
Take a look at this.
What’s that dogu-looking thing?
That’s a Gaizok fortress called the Bandok.
(Heizaemon Kamikita) (He’s on the phone)
Sorry we’re late… Oh, Heizaemon. It’s been a while.
It’s been a while because you’ve been ignoring us.
Sorry to butt in, but Gaizok aren’t our only enemies.
I know, but I want reinforcements as soon as possible. Kappei is already out there in Zambot.
Zambot 3 is all by itself? That’s crazy.
We can keep them busy, but we need the power of THE BOYS to actually defeat them. Please, we need you in Tokyo right away.
Understood. We’ll leave shortly.
Chief, we have an incoming communication from the President.
Shibuya, the Gaizok are attacking Tokyo.
(The UESN President) (On the phone)
Yes they are. We’re about to deal with them.
Please hold off the attack for just a little bit.
Why? The people of Tokyo are in danger.
Vice Minister Dorian is heading to the Bandok to talk to them.
What the hell!?
The fool. The Gaizok aren’t people you can negotiate with.
I couldn’t stop her. If I tried, it would mean denying the possibility of Total Pacifism.
Let’s go. Total Pacifism doesn’t mean non-resistance.
It’ll take time to realize Total Pacifism. Until then, we have to fight.
Yes. Jamil, Yurika, deploy THE BOYS.
[King Beal, Command Room]
Vice Minister Dorian, huh… It’s good to want peace, but it depends on who you’re dealing with. And she wants to talk to Gaizok of all people.
Gramps, we’re good to go. Let’s do it already.
(Duo Maxwell)
I didn’t bring any gifts, but you’ll have to put up with me regardless.
Hmm? Where’s Heero?
As soon as he heard Relena went to see Gaizok, he ran out.
He’s totally into her.
Oh dear… Well, let’s go too.
Oh? You’re coming with us, gramps?
It’ll be fiiine. This sort of thing is my specialty. Just stay home, old man.
Idiot. I know more about the Gaizok than you ever will. Let’s just go already! I’ll ride in Duo’s Gundam.
Good grief. Why are all the old men I know so energetic?
I know how you feel.
[Freeden, Cabin]
Um, aren’t the Gaizok…
We’ve fought them before. I remember hearing the name Zambot 3.
I recall that Uchuta and Keiko’s deaths were mentioned.
Zambot 3 has three pilots. Those kids were two of them.
What should we do…
The Gaizok are going to be destroyed anyway, right? Who cares what we do.
They’ll just go into hiding for a while. They’ll be back in five years, just as we witnessed.
Raji.
I know. I know we have to fight them. We need time and equipment to research the Time Flow Engine and enable a time warp so we can go back to our own time. In order to do that, we need to fight and help out THE BOYS.
…This is so frustrating. Let’s just get this over with so we can go home.
It wasn’t the best of times, but it was home.
But in order to go back, we need to live here for a while.
…Argh. Let’s just not think about it! If we think about it too much and end up doing something wrong here, it’ll all be for nothing!
But if we die, the impact on history would be minimal.
I said quit it!
(That's right. We can’t die. To survive, we’ll need a new Frame for the Excellence…)
[GEAR HQ, Command Room]
Commander! Emergency call from a surveillance satellite.
Is it the Galfa?
I’m not sure, but five objects have fallen to Earth from Space. They’re heading straight for Tokyo!
To Tokyo!?
Five objects… Could it be them!?
[Bandok, A Room]
We must succeed in peace negotiations with Gaizok. We can’t let this war escalate any further.
(Relena Dorian)
Yes. But to think they’ve arranged a feast for us like this… Lord Butcher seems willing to at least talk.
I hope he’s receptive.
Ah, it seems Lord Butcher is here.
Hohohoho.
So you’re Butcher of Gaizok…
Don’t be hasty. Just sit and enjoy the meal. We’ll talk afterwards. Please, eat.
O-okay.
Oh, but before that, let’s have a toast to each other’s health. Raise your glasses.
Lady Relena, this might work out.
Yes.
Now, a toast!
W-what the hell!?
The glass turned into handcuffs?
Lord Butcher, what’s going on here!?
Hohoho. I thought I’d teach you a lesson.
A lesson?
Yes. You’ll find Professor Butcher’s lessons very entertaining. Hohoho.
Chapter 8: Bandok Appears!
Lesson one. Proof that the Earth has gravity.
Aaaaaahhhhhhhh!
If you drop a human from this high up, they’ll fall. Just to be sure, let’s drop one human. Upsy-daisy.
AAAAAHHHHHH!
Why would you…
So here’s the first question. If you drop a large Federation soldier and a small Miss Relena at the same time, which one will hit the ground first? Think carefully.
Super Robot Wars R - Go! Zambot 3
Dang Gaizok, I’ll beat you out of Tokyo!
(Kappei Jin)
Hey, look at that Kappei! It’s the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs.
(Uchuta Kamie)
Butcher’s got her!
(Keiko Kamikata)
Dang it. I told her that talking to Gaizok wouldn’t work! The only way to stop them is with force!
Hohoho. Perfect. Now I’ll show you the answer to my question in front of Zambot.
Huh?
Select 8 units to deploy.
What the hay? More of them?
We’re running out of time. If we don’t get in there fast, the Vice Minister will be killed!
Everyone, hurry up!
I know!
Fufufu. The more spectators the better. Come out, Mecha-Boosts! Don’t let them get close!
And there’s the expected Mecha-Boosts!
Numbers aren’t everything!
As always, the new unit first.
[Zambot 3]
The Moon to Daitarn’s Sun. Like most Supers, it’s slow and a bit of an EN hog, but more bulky and powerful. Be warned that it’s not as bulky as you would like and it’ll run out of long ranged ammo very quickly. It also has a very powerful combo attack with Daitarn and three pilots. Overall, it’ll carry its weight if you choose to use and invest in it. Shame that it’s most powerful attack is a secret towards the end of the game.
As a small spoiler, Butcher isn’t going to stick around in this chapter. Try to rush him, which might be difficult since Zambot has a real chance of dying if left by itself. If only it had the Guard spirit, I would be offering different advice, but maybe it’s best to let Butcher go.
At the start of turn 2…
Now let’s see the answer to my earlier question.
S-stop this!
She’s in danger!
Oh no. We won’t make it in time.
WAAAAAAAAH!
AAAAAAAHHH!
Dammit!
An object is approaching at high speeds.
Super Robot Wars R - Last Impression
(Heero, please.)
…
(Heero Yuy)
What’s that!?
Another enemy?
No, it’s a friend.

Huh? You’re interrupting my lessons!
Y-you saved me…
Heero… Thank you for saving us…
Bring the Vice Minister inside!
Okay. Come right this way!
Continuing the mission…
Hehe. As long as the hostages are safe, we’ve got them on the ropes.
Yeah. Time to beat them to a pulp!
Oh, they’ve already saved her.
Keep moving. If you get hit by a stray shot, you’re done for.
Mmm.
Heero’s just temporary here, but I might as well talk about him.
[XXXG-00W0 Wing Zero Custom]
A real monster at long ranges but mediocre in close range. It also has two different MAP attacks that require some setup to use, but will deal massive damage to everyone involved if you get it to work. If you want to use him, make sure to max out its EN so you can keep using the Twin Buster Rifle as much as possible.
Like I mentioned before Butcher retreats at 30% HP (6000). The coward. He also retreats at the start of turn 5, so try to rush him. I haven’t been able to get to him and deal any real damage fast enough, but you, the reader, might have a better chance.
Something’s up. We’re infiltrating this way too easily.
Gaizok are underestimating humans..
Too easy is still easy. Now, let’s get to work.
Who the hell are you?
Tch! We’ve been spotted! I knew this was going too smoothly!
So you’re Gaizok?
Pretty much. I am Killer the Butcher, servant of Gaizok, the ruler of the universe.
Tell me, why do you kill? The humans of Earth are nothing more than dust in the grand scheme of things.
Hehehehe. It’s because Gaizok wills it.
Gaizok’s will… You destroyed Planet Beal already and now you want to destroy Earth too!?
Yes.
Sorry, but that’s not going to happen!
Hmph. Like I’d just let you kill me. Hohohoho.
I may not be able to kill you right now, but…
[Explosion]
What was that?
An explosion from inside the Bandok.
It must be gramps. Very nice.
W-what!? What have you done?
Tch. I just can’t blow up something this big.
Duo, Ryoma, let’s get out of here.
Make way, coming through!
Don’t let him get away! Capture them dead or alive!
Butcher… Killer the Butcher…
Ooooooohhhh… Lord Gaizok…
Butcher… Don’t forget your purpose… 2000 years ago, you were but a poor barbarian who hunted beasts on a barren planet.
(Gaizok)
Y-y-yes. That was once me.
I have given you immortality and a good life. Therefore, you will help bring order to the entire universe.
I know that well. I devote all of my strength to the cause.
Then stop fooling around. Don’t play with the weapons I have given you for your own pleasure. If you persist, I will repay you with death… Protect that weapon. Do not stick around here just to goof off.
Y-yes sir! I will leave this airspace immediately.
The Bandok is retreating!
Stupid Gaizok, don’t show your ugly mug here again!
Hey hey, what the heck? They ran before we could take them out.
They made us look like fools.
Hahaha. You’re right. Change of plans. Let’s get out of here before we become collateral damage.
Leave it to me. When it comes to running away, no one does it better.
You can brag about that?
[The screen shakes violently]
Kyaaaa. What the heck? An earthquake!?
No, that wasn’t an earthquake.
A mass of energy is rising up from underground.
W-what the heck is that!?
Impossible. That’s the Devil Gundam!
Devil Gundam?
It can’t be. I know Domon defeated it already.
The devil can rise up again and again…
…Five mobile weapons approaching from above.
Five? New enemies?
It feels familiar. Is it them!?
Super Robot Wars R - Flying in the Sky
What is it this time!?
I knew it. It’s them.
Domon Kasshu, King of Hearts!!
(Domon Kasshu)
Chibodee Crocket, Queen of Spades!!
(Chibodee Crocket)
George de Sand, Jack in Diamonds!!
(George de Sand)
Sai Saichi, Ace of Clubs!!
(Sai Saichi)
Argo Gulskii, Black Joker!!
(Argo Gulskii)
We are the Shuffle Alliance!!
Woah. They’re on fire!
The Shuffle Alliance… I’ve heard rumors about them… A group of five fighters who have maintained the rules of war for 4,000 years. Their strength is said to surpass common sense.
You’re correct. This is the new Shuffle Alliance, who just recently inherited their crests.
Yes. Madame Fa, it’s been a while.
You look healthy.
You all look great!
He’s just like Ginga.
You’ve made an explosive entrance, as usual!
Hey, is that Mister Ryoma? Is it true that you retired as a Getter pilot?
We’ll talk later. First, we need to take down the Devil Gundam.
That’s right. Let’s go.
GUNDAM FIIIIIIIIIIGHT!
REEEEEAAAAADDDDDDYYYYYYYYYYY!
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Five new units, let’s go!

[GF13-017NJ Shining Gundam]
The best melee fighter of the Shuffle Alliance Gundams. It’s an average Real/Super hybrid with a melee focus until it gets to 120 will and it turns into its Super Mode. This increases its stats and unlocks two extremely powerful finishers in Shining Finger and Shining Finger Sword. Plus it changes its normal BGM to the second best G Gundam theme, a trait shared among the other Shuffle Alliance Super Modes.
[GF13-006NA Gundam Maxter]
The most well rounded among the Shuffle Alliance Gundams. The Neo American mobile fighter is pretty decent both up close and in mid-range with its Cyclone Punch.
[GF-13-009NF Gundam Rose]
The best at long range fighting among the Shuffle Alliance Gundams. It’s the mobile fighter with the best long range options and it even has a post move Rose Bit attack with decent range. Super Mode gives it a long range Rose Hurricane attack, but by then George is probably running empty on EN. If you want to use Gundam Rose, improve its EN and EN management.
[GF13-011NC Dragon Gundam]
The quickest among the Shuffle Alliance Gundams. It has the highest base movement and mobility among its peers. It’s also fairly decent in close to mid range.
[GF13-013NR Bolt Gundam]
The bulkiest among the Shuffle Alliance Gundams. Out of the other Shuffle Alliance Gundams, it will take the least amount of damage per hit, but its HP isn’t anywhere near Daitarn levels of bulk.
One last thing to note. All five Gundams can fly, but just like the GX, they have B ranks in the air. Land them as soon as possible to maximize their fighting potential. Using flight for movement over terrain should be fine though.
Super Sentai introductions aside, the objective now is to take down the Devil Gundam and the Devil Army. The grunts are actually pushovers thanks to all the will that the Gaizok gave us. Just stick together and march towards the boss.
The Devil Gundam has HP regen and a long range, but that’s all it has going for it. Get in close and try to take it down in one turn with your most powerful attacks. And don’t forget the double money/exp.
The map ends once you kill the Devil and its zombies.
[Freeden, Cabin]
That was so dumb of you. There’s no way the Gaizok would ever agree to peace talks!
But I…
You’re smarter than this, Vice Minister!
Kappei, you need to calm down. Relena, I don’t dislike Total Pacifism. In fact I think it’s necessary.
But both sides need to agree.
And this is Gaizok we’re talking about.
A discussion can only happen if both parties are willing to listen and understand each other. If only one side is like that, then it’s doomed to fail.
I know that. But it’s a mistake to just assume the other side doesn’t want the same thing. What’s necessary for nations to coexist is consideration for others. It’s never just about the fighting.
That’s true. But I hope you’ve learned something from this. The Gaizok have no intention of talking to or coexisting with humans. To them, humans are nothing more than something to be destroyed. And they even make a game out of it.
If that’s the case, then why do they think like that? Who gave them these ideals?
I don’t know. We hope to find the truth through fighting them.
So Zambot 3 will fight alongside THE BOYS from now on?
Yes. We won’t get anywhere if we just keep doing what we’ve been doing.
If we join THE BOYS, then everyone will help us fight the Gaizok.
But in return, we’ll also have to fight all of their enemies.
I don’t care about that. No matter who comes, they’ll fall before the great Kappei.
Oh dear. Anyway, let me introduce the pilots for Zambot 3. This is Kappei Jin, the main pilot.
Heya THE BOYS. Nice to meetcha.
If you’re too excited, you’ll just get shot down. Anyway, I’m Uchuta Kamie.
Just so you know, if I go down, so do you.
What was that!
Both of you, stop it. I’m Keiko Kamikita.
The three of them will pilot Zambot 3 with THE BOYS.
Uchuta and Keiko…
Do you need something?
Is there something on our faces?
No, it’s nothing.
(...These kids are going to die…)
Well then, I’ll return to the King Beal.
Grampa, you’re not joining us?
Our real enemy is Butcher’s boss, Gaizok. We must find out its true identity. Our battle is only just beginning.
[GEAR HQ, Hallway]
So what will the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs do now?
Where’s Heero?
He’s gone off somewhere. Didn’t even say goodbye.
He must have gone to another battlefield…
Probably. If you want to meet him, you have two options.
What are they?
You either jump into battlefields, or you get rid of them entirely from this world.
[GEAR HQ, Command Room]
By the way, I need to know. How did the Devil Gundam reappear after its apparent defeat?
Could it be that someone else revived the Devil Gundam?
Um, I’m a bit out of the loop here…
Right, I’m sure there are some of you who don’t know the situation. Let me introduce myself. I’m--
There’s no need. You introduced yourself well enough when you first appeared. Very flashy too.
Oh yeah, we did do that.
I’ll start by explaining what the Devil Gundam is. At first, it was called the Ultimate Gundam.
It was created to regenerate the Earth, which was devastated by all these wars.
The DG cells that it creates have three major functions built into them. “Self-regeneration”, “self-multiplication”, and “self-evolution”.
In other words, they have the power to evolve themselves into a more suitable form as needed.
But the Ultimate Gundam went berserk at some point and turned into the Devil Gundam.
And we fought it.
It was during that battle that we inherited our Shuffle Crests.
In the end, we defeated the Devil Gundam!
In the shadows of history, few know about the truth…
I’ve heard of the Devil Gundam, but I thought it was just a rumor.
So why is it back?
Honestly, we’re at a loss.
The final battle with the Devil Gundam was in space. When it was defeated, fragments rained down on Earth.
Well, most of it burned up on re-entry.
Some of the fragments must have survived and begun to function again due to its self-regeneration and self-multiplication.
The problem is that it’s not just one fragment that’s begun to function.
We’ve only defeated one Devil Gundam, but we don’t know how many there are this time.
The Devil Gundam we fought in Tokyo was…the fourth one so far.
Thankfully, they lack a core pilot so they’re not nearly as strong.
Zombies can’t really be called pilots.
They’re still annoying.
So we have a request for THE BOYS. We’d like your help in gathering information about the Devil Gundam.
That’s something we’re not really good at.
What about Rain?
She’s busy fixing up God Gundam.
We’re currently fighting many different forces, so we lack the resources.
Of course we’re not asking you to do this for free. We’ll work with THE BOYS until this is all resolved.
We Shuffle Alliance members will pull our weight.
Sounds good to me. I’ll allow it.
THE BOYS are getting bigger every day.
[???]
The Devil Gundam… Something that should never have been resurrected has returned. That is a mistake… Despinis…
Yes… Is there anything I can help you with…
(Despinis)
Find the Devil Gundam.
…
What’s your reply?
…Yes… I’ll look for the Devil Gundam…
