The rain bringer hath come. But it won't be too impressive until then. While Poliwrath focuses on a more even spread of stats with better Attack and Defense, Politoed is instead a more special oriented evolution focusing on Special Attack and Special Defense, while their HP and Speed stats remain the same. So which is better? Technically Politoed has the slightly higher stats, if to become more physically frail, but it's also slightly more focused. Without a Fighting type, Politoed can be a bit one note, but it's a fine special attacker, supported by physical moves if need be. Unlike most trade evolutions, Politoed has got absolutely nothing in terms of movepool, so it needs to learn plenty of TMs. And yeah, you have your Water moves and your Ice moves and your Normal moves. All you need, really. Keep Poliwhirl around for as long as you need to learn certain moves and then trade away and hope to god your friend gives it back. Ahh, memories.
