Two weeks later...
The newly appointed Hakurei Shrine Maiden, along with Yukari's help, strove to exterminate the youkai that would cause humans harm.
Spirits rising, and full of restlessness, these youkai would swoop down upon idle humans, and attack.
Their numbers did not seem to be dwindling, either.
Yet, at times by violence, and at times through talk, the girl completed her mission, step-by-step.
Then, one day...
While on the back home through the forest, they found themselves passing by a small garden of flowers...

Chapter 9: A Dangerous Game

Amazing... There are so many flowers in bloom.

I didn't notice them the last time we passed by here, but they sure are lovely.
Flowers blooming isn't all that rare, I guess, but it's my first time seeing so many at once.

This area always has lots of flowers. I believe there are some rare breeds around, as well.

It's a popular hideaway for us youkai.

Yep. Humans don't really know about this place, so it's a favorite spot for us fairies, too♪

We play around here a lot. I love seeing all the pretty flowers.

Though you mostly just trip and fall a bunch, hehe.

Shut it.

Is that right? Personally, I don't think you need to be a fairy to appreciate the view.
This place is just lovely, no two ways about it.

Hehe, I know the feeling.

It's really quite a sight. They're all in full bloom.
I almost can't believe they bloomed like this naturally. Maybe someone was taking care of them?

Someone taking care of them... Uh oh.

Hm? Someone come to mind?

Uh... Maybe.

True, this might be someone's handiwork after all.
So many different types of flowers blooming all at once shouldn't be possible.

Oh, does this forest have a care-taker, perhaps?

Yeah. I know of someone with the power to make flowers bloom.

I can't say for certain that this is her handiwork...

But she's the type to do this on a whim, so it's not impossible.

The power to make flowers bloom... That's pretty cool. Reminds me of Hanasaka Jiisan, that story about the old man who could make withered tress blossom.

D-don't ever make that comparison in front of her!
Seriously, if she hears you say she's like an old man, you're dead!

...Really?

Oh yes. Her terrifying smile might be the last thing you ever see.

By the way. That scary lady happens to be right over there.

What!? D-did she hear me!?

She's not THAT close, so you should be fine.
...Though, it seems like she's chasing someone.

Is she bullying someone again...?
I'd really rather not have anything to do with her, but we ought to check it out.
At the very least, some rather violent-looking fairies seem to be making merry around here.

And we're straight into it.

Item-wise, I repaired a bunch of our Iron weapons that were running out of durability, and shuffled around some stuff to our newcomers.

Speaking of, let's take a look at them!

Rumia
Youkai of Twilight

HP: (65)27
STR: (55)10
MAG: (25)7
SKL: (40)7
SPD: (30)7
LUK: (30)7
DEF: (40)7
RES: (45)8

Out of the youkai trio, Rumia's definitely the weakest member. I mean, I guess that makes sense - she DID just have her power sealed off, after all. She's a pretty stereotypical Fighter-type units, which high HP and Strength, and middling everything else. If she turns out well, she can bust out her axe power to help Wriggle and Mystia. If not, she can just be a stat-stick, and that's fine too. If nothing else, her surprisingly high Res makes her a good pick for baiting enemy mages.

Nice thing is that Darkness works even if she's not out in front, so even Wriggle and Mystia will benefit from the -10% Accuracy/Evasion applied to adjacent units. Just be careful you don't hit your own allies with it.

As an aside, on promotion, Rumia actually gets Pierce (basically Luna) and Drain (basically Sol), so she can build her own jerry-rigged version of Aether. Pretty cute.

HP: (55)25
STR: (50)12
MAG: (20)5
SKL: (45)12
SPD: (60)17
LUK: (30)11
DEF: (40)7
RES: (30)9

Can't help but notice the growth rates keep getting higher and higher as we go...

Chen's real good! Compared to Ran, she's more focused on offense, though her defensive stats aren't terrible. That base speed is pretty ridiculous, so it's not like she gets hit a lot, anyway. In practice, I find I switch which one's out in front pretty frequently, based on the situation. This is kind of an aside, but Ran gets Lances on promotion, while Chen gets Axes, so eventually they'll have the whole triangle covered between them. It's nice!

Chen is a Beast, of course. She has Continue, much the same as Mystia. She also has Slip Past. Not to be confused with Slip Through, which is what those mooks had from two chapters ago, this skill lets her pass by enemy units without them blocking her movement. I guess it was just called Pass in Fire Emblem.

As an aside, Yukari's Gap skill is basically Slip Through + Slip Past in one. Still useful to have this on Chen, though, since she has 2 more Move to use with it.

Oh yeah, and of course, she can make a Trinity with Yukari and Ran.

For reference, here's the bonuses Ran would be getting with just Yukari.

Not very impressive...

Throw in Chen, though, and you've got yourself a stew!

+7 Strength? +5 Defense? Freakin' +8 Speed? Don't mind if I do!

The youkai trio are no slouches for bonuses either.

I haven't really been making a big deal of it, but I honestly found this game pretty rough back when I first played it blind. The early game was much more brutal than I was expecting, especially with those random super effective weapons lying around, always escaping my notice.

This is about the point where I felt like the difficulty started to ease up, though, and it's all because of Trinities. Fixed Trinities like these are, by far, the most busted thing in this entire game, and anyone who can be a part of one is good almost by default. The sequel has it's own share of stupid bullshit, but at least they realized how messed up Trinities were and nerfed the bonuses a bit.

Supports time! Once again, there were two clear winners, so here you go:

Kogasa/Kyouko B
Ran/Yukari A

Anyway, here's how we're arranged. Keeping one of your two flyers (Yuyuko, in this case) flexible with Pair Ups can be useful on this chapter, though it's not strictly necessary.

By the way, that clump of green sprites to the left are the "beautiful flowers in bloom" that everyone keeps talking about.

...Look, making good textures is hard, ok?

Now, let's get started!

Over in the bottom left corner...

Teehee, please hold on a minute, little girl.

Not happening! Don't come anywhere near me!

Oh my, how cold. I was only going to ask if you wanted to play with me.

Your idea of "play" seems completely messed up! Go away!

---

Chasing a girl through a field of flowers, and smiling.

Yep, seems like a nutcase.

I SAID we shouldn't come here!

You brought it up earlier, but is she really that scary?

You can tell just by watching her, can't you?

...Seems like "dangerous" would be a better description.

Gaah, I keep explaining this, but you still don't get it!

Look, that lady is Yuuka Kazami. It's not just making flower bloom, she's a seriously strong person, and, uh...

...And, what?

Just, well... I dunno how else to say this, but she's a total sadist.

A "sadist"?
So, she likes bullying people? I think I get the picture.

Hehehe, she sure seems like she's having fun, though.

I'm feeling all sorts of sympathetic pain, over here...

Maybe we should frolick in the flowers too, little birdy.

Gyah!

...In any case, we can't just ignore that girl. Yukari, let's rescue her!

I REALLY didn't want to get involved... but if you insist.
If either of us can get close enough to talk to her, we should take her into our protection.

With so many of us protecting the girl, I imagine she'll give up on the chase.

But whatever you do, don't even think of attacking Yuuka.
If you approach her carelessly, you won't get away with an apology. Understood?

Y-yeah, got it!

--

Haa, haa...

Huh? There are people over there?

Hey!! Please, help! I dunno why, but this lady keeps following me!!

Don't worry, we're coming! Try to flee to us as best as you can!

A-alright!

--

Oh... A crowd of spoil-sports, I see.

I was just playing around, you know? Is ruining other people's fun how you pass your time?

Heh, I'll just have to play with you lot for a bit.

Loads of fairies spawn in all over the place.

BGM: Grimoire of Alice

Let's take a quick look at the map.

The east half.

The west half, with Alice and Yuuka.

Speaking of Alice, she technically joined our party right away, but we'll save looking at her stats until we can actually do anything useful with her.

The gimmick for this chapter is that Alice needs to run through these winding passages. Yuuka will be chasing after her (they both have 5 Move) and if she reaches her, they retreat from the map. You can still complete the chapter even then, it's just a rout map, but of course, we'd like to actually keep Alice.

Speaking of Yuuka, though...

She's pretty tough. That's a Steel Brave Axe, by the way.

...Come to think of it, most depictions of Yuuka make her out to be slow as molasses, but she can also clone herself to tag-team you. So making her a low-Speed unit with a Brave weapon makes some sense. Clever!

For now, Alice is just gunna hoof it.

Up top-side, we've got some fairies to clear out.

Fairies are pretty categorically weak, so this is actually a great map to train up some of your units that are falling behind. For me, that includes Mokou, Kogasa, Kyouko, Komachi, and the Three Fairies. I'll be trying to feed them as many kills as possible, this chapter.

Just one thing.

See these flowers, here?

Oh my...

You've trampled all over the flowers I put so much care into raising...
You must REALLY want to play with me, hmm?

Well... I can't very well disappoint you now, can I? Teehee...

And then she summons a bunch of extra fairies.

Now by rights, having extra enemies on the map would be fine, buuuuut pissing off Yuuka here actually sets a (bad) flag for way later in the game.

...And by "way later", I actually mean "half-way through the final chapter". So uh, try to keep this in mind.

So yeah, we're going to be avoiding stepping over these flower tiles. (You can tell it's a flower tile even without reading the Japanese by spotting the -5% evasion penalty in the top right). Incidentally, "stepping" on them includes both ending your turn on them, AND passing over them at any point in your movement. Flyers included.

Spotting them can be kind of annoying (this tile barely looks like it has any flowers on it, for example), and the whole map is set up like kind of a maze, so how's the best way to figure out where to go?

Simple. Just use this map on the wiki .

Dark green is impassable trees (though flyers can go over them), light green is safe, yellow is flowers. This makes it a lot easier to see the paths we have to take.

Mystia starts us out with a nice level. Strength, Skill, Speed, Luck.

Oh yeah, so although you can't walk over flowers yourself, enemy fairies can step on the flowers all they want, and Yuuka won't get mad at you for it. So even though this is a dead-end of sorts, we can lure out some fairies past the flowers.

Kind of the devs, I guess?

BGM: 幽夢

For whatever reason, this chapter has two different songs for the Player and Enemy phases. They're both pretty dece, IMO, though I like the originals in the first place.

Yuuka gives chase.

I sent Mokou down the eastern-most corridor to handle the fairies there, but I may have slightly overestimated her power.

Not that dying is a problem, or anything, but it'd slow things down if she did.

A fairy picks a fight with Suika, and gives her Strength, Speed, and Defense. Extremely nice. The mostest nicest, even.

Chen and Co. style on a fool.

Kogasa and Kyouko soak up most of the hits, as planned.

Mokou alone might not be able to handle all those fairies, but with Tewi's help, they can proooobably do it?

...Just glad I've got Physic staves.

Kyouko and Kogasa keep mopping up around this clearing.

Magic, Skill, Defense.

I'm glad I put a Fire Axe on you, Kyouko.

HP, Speed, Luck, Resistance.

Man, you're both really weird.

Oh yeah, so here's something annoying.

Unlike in actual Fire Emblem, you don't "draw a line" when you select your movement path. Instead, you just select a tile, and the unit tries to move in the cleanest path it can, prioritizing horizontal movement, then verticle, and making as few turns as possible (usually just 1). The end result is that, as Mystia is currently lined up with the top row of flowers, she can't head west by any means without trampling those flowers.

Just one of those annoying QoL things I have to deal with.

More chasing.

More lackluster Mokou levels.

Strength and Skill, on this one.

Tewi parks riiight at the edge of these flowers to bait some of those fairies over.

Yuyuko smacked a fairy that dropped a Steel Javelin. It's got 9 Might to a normal Javelin's 6, so it's a decent upgrade.

Now, Komachi's Paired Up with Yuugi here, but she really doesn't need the help killing this fairy.

So she passes of Yuugi to Shrine Maiden.

Then she kills this fairy on her own, and gains 46 EXP for the kill, instead of the (probably?) 23 she would have gained. Just a lil optimization, since Yuugi wouldn't have gotten much for it herself.

Byakuren gets a Physic level. Strength, Magic, Defense, Resistance.

She's getting reeeally close to 20 now. Good thing I let her hold an Evolution Jewel, just in case.

The most annoying thing about how the game handles movement is it means we have to kind of funnel into this corridor with way less space than it seems like.

Alice continues running.

Going south here is leads to a roundabout with flowers in the way, and Yuuka will get just as pissed at you for Alice trampling them. So yeah, gotta head north.

I shuffled the trio a couple tiles up last turn, so now they can safely head west. Might as well give Rumia some kills while I can, I figure.

Komachi was position well to weaken this fairy with a Javelin.

She gets HP, Skill, Speed, Defense, and Resistance for it.

Turns out it didn't need to be weakened, as the Three Fairies crit anyway.

Sunny grabs an excellent level. HP, Strength, Speed, Defense, and Resistance.

I could be a lot more aggressive with my movements over here, but honestly, you have way more time than it might initially seem like.

Sliiightly spooky that this fairy had Fire magic to throw at Tewi. She could have just barely survived if it hit, but she'd also need to dodge the other fairy's attack in that case.

In this case, she dodged both attacks, but it was still way closer to resetting than I'd have liked.

Yeeeah, really glad about those Physic staves.

Suika moves up to body block for Byakuren.

I'd prefer to have left Yuyuko out instead, but for once I actually checked the enemy weapons and notice that one of those fairies has a Ghost-Slaying Lance that I think could oneshot her.

And Kyouko's just gunna sit right here with a Hand Axe.

Nothing special happens on the enemy phase, so Komachi re-equips her Yuugi backpack and finishes a fairy off.

Moving around here is a pain. It LOOKS like we have lots of space, but one of those flower tiles is jutting out far enough to the left that, in practice, we've only got a single column to go down here.

Anyway, Luna gets Skill and Luck.

Not very lucky...

Mokou can survive two hits from those fairies, but not three. So, she's just gunna sit tight and let them come to her, and then get healed back up by Byakuren.

The chase continues.

As a flyer, Yuyuko is less bound to the terrain of this map, and can just fly over the trees.

This will become VERY relevant, later in the chapter.

For now, take this Skill/Defense level.

Rumia might not be the strongest, but with her friends at her back, she can annihilate some fairies no problem.

There's actually not a lot to do, turn by turn, so this is going way more quickly than the turn counts would suggest.

Mokou finishes off one of her pursuers.

Tewi gets Strength, Speed, Luck, and Defense.

Woops, I ran out of uses on Byakuren's Physic staff.

Aya still has one herself, so it should be fine.

By the way, checking how the math plays out like this doesn't actually count as "trampling the flowers", as long as you cancel the movement afterwords.

Just be careful not to fat-finger it.

At this 2-way juncture, you need to go south, or you'll get trapped in a dead end.

On turn 9, a few extra fairies spawn up near where we started. They're the only reinforcements on this map (other than Yuuka's flower pals), and they're not hugely dangerous, so Mokou/Tewi and Komachi/Yuugi should be able to handle it.

Byakuren's coming too, just in case.

Aya heals up Kyouko, and gets HP, Strength, Magic, Skill, Speed, and Luck. An excellent level!

I know I said you don't have to rush TOO hard, but Alice is starting to enter into range of some fairies.

Mystia's close enough to make sure she won't get her movement blocked.

One fairy gets counter-killed by Tewi, and the rest stream down after her.

Kyouko finally finishes off all the fairies in this particular flower bed, and sits at a tantalizing 99 EXP.

Komachi's crew keep moving back.

As it turns out, this fairy doesn't even move. She does have a Rune Sword, though.

Drops our first Reincarnation Jewel, too.

I dunno if I'm actually going to use these on Yuugi/Youki/anyone else, but if nothing else they sell for 5000.

Alice keeps heading down. She's pretty close to the rest of our forces, now.

Those fairies that are ahead of her are a bit annoying, since she isn't quite strong enough to deal with them herself, but we'll manage.

Here's a few of the scene, panned slightly to the right, so you can actually see how close we are.

Yuyuko's probably gunna need to help Alice out.

Though, we do some shuffling of units so Shrine Maiden's out there, instead.

Star gets a level for some fighting. HP, Magic, Skill, Resistance.

As does Mokou. HP, Strength, Magic, Resistance.

All this Strength feels a bit wasted, but honestly, I don't mind getting HP, so I'll take it.

On turn 11, we're finally close enough that Shrine Maiden could talk to Alice.

Let's take a look at what happens, first.

Ah, this is no good at all... This just won't do.
I can't very well play with her like this.

Very well, I'll leave it here, for today.

Perhaps we'll play another time? Young miss... Yukari Yakumo.

Teehee...

And then she retreats.

Given that this is a Rout map, getting Yuuka to piss of like that is what the chapter wants you to think is the intended solution to dealing with her.

...But that'd be boring, so I'm not going to trigger that event. Yuuka can keep chasing me, for all I care.

Sunny blows up more of her faiiry brethren, and gets Magic, Skill, Speed, and Luck for it.

Keep getting Speed and I won't complain.

Oh yeah, and since Komachi has Byakuren around to babysit her, she's going to take on these three fairies without Yuugi's help. Gotta get those sick gains.

Yuuka's still chasing.

By the way, this area is a roundabout, so you can have Yuuka chase you around in circles without end. In fact, I'm pretty sure that's exactly what this is here for.

Since I'm finally going to be putting Alice into combat, we might as well take a look at her stats, now.

Alice Margatroid
Witch in Wonderland

HP: (40)19
STR: (5)0
MAG: (70)9
SKL: (60)6
SPD: (50)9
LUK: (20)4
DEF: (35)3
RES: (50)8

lmao that fucking Magic growth. She's even got fucking Paragon. Mokou is crying at how inferior she is to this absolute chad.

I guess Alice is spposed to fit the Nino-archetype of a low level mage girl with big growths. Except this one joins in the first half of the game, with decent bases, and a skill to help her catch up. So like, way better than Nino. In addition to Paragon, she's got Magic Barrier, same as Byakuren, giving her 50% damage reduction against magic damage. She's also got Gather like Suika and Tewi... for some reason? Oh, and she comes with a Grimoire item, which boosts the user's weapon levels by one rank each.

She's good, folks.

Minor complication that I forgot about: Yuuka isn't just chasing Alice. She'll actually go for the closest unit she can draw a path to.

So uh, we're gunna be clearing the fuck out of that area on the next turn.

Komachi continues her kumite.

Byakuren gets this level for healing her. HP and Speed isn't too impressive, but I'm not going to complain about Speed.

Having said all that about Alice, she's still a bit fragile. She needs a little bit to catch up.

(I turned off animations for most of the chapter, incidentally, though I turned them back on for a bit).

Tewi finishes this last northern fairy off.

She gets HP, Skill, Speed, and Resistance for it.

And another Fire Lance, incidentally.

With some careful maneuvering, we continue luring Yuuka down into this roundabout.

Shrine Maiden's going to heal Alice up, and then help her finish off this last fairy in the vicinity.

For some complicated reasons, I need this fairy alive. Chen de-equips all her weapons and lures her over into this pocket.

SM clears out the roundabout on the enemy phase, getting HP, Magic, Speed, and Defense.

She's pretty close to hitting 20, too...

What follows is many, MANY turns of shuffling around units, and getting ready.

Mokou eventually makes it to my fairy pawn.

She also de-equips all her weapons.

Unlike Chen, she does not take 0 damage.

Thanks.

Remember how I mentioned that Mokou's respawn can break up Fixed Pairs?

That's what this was about.

Also so she can Pair Up with Yuyuko.

Now, Yuyuko herself can't realistically do any damage to Yuuka, what with her 32 Defense. Maybe with a Flamce Lance's maigc damage, but then she'd be in melee range, and assuredly die a brutal death.

Mokou, however, is targeting Yuuka's much more manageable 13 Resistance.

Now, maybe you're thinking that I'm just making using of Mokou's extra lives for some sacrificial attacks...

...But that's where you'd be wrong.

Thanks to Yuyuko, Mokou can sit on these tree tiles around the area. With her 1-2 range, she can attack Yuuka, but Yuuka can neither counter, nor reach her. Thus, as long as you've got enough Magic, this strat is completely safe.

If your own Mokou can't quite cut it, you can consider using Byakuren or one of the Three Fairies, instead. You'll have to keep them out of Fixed Pairs this chapter (since they can't do Mokou's Til Death Do Us Part trick), but you can probably manage. As a last resort, you can promote Yuyuko early, which (spoilers) lets her finally use Magic herself. Then you should have no problem.

Just make sure you don't try to attack her with Alice. That counts as Yuuka "catching" her, and then they both leave. Don't want that!

The first time you attack Yuuka (with a non-Alice unit), you get some dialogue.

Ahh, butting in on other peoples' playtime, are we? How terribly boorish of you.

Very well. If you're so in need of a lesson on manners... I'll glady teach you.

From here, there's not a lot she can really do about it.

You have to reposition a bunch, and pick your spots carefully, but as long as you're doing damage, you've got her.

So, skipping ahead by like 10 turns...

pew pew

Unsurprisingly, this gets Mokou a level. Strength, Skill, Speed.

Congrats, Mokou. You have more Strength than Magic as a mage.

Yuyuko gets HP, Magic, and Luck for the kill.

Guess we're all fans of having the wrong attack stat around here...

Weirdly enough, Yuuka doesn't actually have any dialogue for beating her.

She DOES drop her Steel Brave Axe, though. That's reward enough, I think.

Some last rounds of healing, and Byakunre finally hits the big Two-Oh.

I mean, we might as well promote her now, right?

She pops an Evolution Jewel, and...

Byakuren's new class name is The Legendary Priest. She gained access to Swords (not that she'll get much use), gained a point of Move, and gained Luna's Healer skill, restoring half her Magic in HP to units adjacent to her every turn.

A fine upgrade, indeed!

Oh yeah, and I was keeping Mokou's killer fairy around, just cuz.

Might as well feed a level to Alice, I guess.

Skill, Speed, Defense, Resistance.

Not sure how you managed to dodge Magic already, but fine...

With that, we've routed the enemy.

I guess she left?

I'm saved...

Good for you, young lady. Be sure to thank our girl when you've caught your breath.
She's the one who rushed straight to your aid, after all.

Come to think of it, it was the same for me.

She's always rushing ahead like that. It's such a pain.

It's not like we could just leave her alone, you know.

Hehe, how incorrigible.

Umm...

T-thanks. I was in real trouble back there.

You're not hurt, are you?

Huh?

Oh, no, I'm fine. I can manage that much, at least.

(She was attacked by Yuuka Kazami, and surely many fairies too, but she's completely fine.)

(No ordinary child, to be sure.)

So, why was she chasing you? Did something happen?

That's what I wanna know!
I just came to this world to play, and passed through here by chance.
Then all of a sudden, that weirdo started attacking me, for god knows what reason!

Hey, are there lots of weirdos like that in this world?

You just ran into the one person who'd bully someone the moment they met.

A stroke of bad luck. Though, a particularly extreme case.
Setting that aside, you mentioned "this world". Might I ask from whence you came?

Hahaha~ I was waiting for you to ask!
I came from Makai! Pretty amazing, right? Never met someone from Makai before, have ya!?
I've got all sortsa magic that people here can't even dream of using!!

Makai? I can't say I've ever heard of it...
It's impressive that you found a way to come all the way here.

Has someone messed with my barriers, I wonder...

Wasn't me. This time.

It'd be a bit difficult to go there to confirm...

What the heck? Be more surprised!
I'm, like, a super-duper bigshot magician, y'know!

Pretty boastful, aren't you?

In this case, it seems she can back her words up.
Otherwise, she would likely not have made it to us unharmed.

Someone FINALLY gets it!

Pretty cheeky, isn't she...

She might be strong, but she's still just a child.

I-I am NOT a child!

Oho, she's getting riled up.
No wonder Yuuka wanted to bully her.
When you get a reaction that good, you just can't help but want to push harder.

W-what're you looking over here for!

*Drool*

Nooooo!!

I see she hasn't gotten bored, yet.

Hm, that reminds me.
When you came here from Makai, you'd have to have passed through a barrier. Do you recall where it was?
If it's begun to come apart, I'll have to go fix it.

Huh? Wait, but if you do that, I won't be able to go back home!

Oh, that shouldn't be a problem. I'll send you back home, and then fix the door behind you.

Awwww... But I just came here, I don't wanna go home yet...

Oh, I got it!

What exactly do you "got"? Nothing bad, I hope.

No no, not at all.
So like, judging by your stupid outfits, you girls are fighting for something, right?
Then as thanks for rescuing me, I'll help you all do whatever it is you're doing.
That way, I get to stay here for a while, and you guys get a powerful ally. Everyone wins!
What do you think? Awesome idea, right?

Good lord... Lady Yukari, what do you think?

Hmm. I suppose that's fine. If that's what you want, you can come with us.

Really? Sweet! Thank you!!
I'm Alice! Nice to meet'cha!!

...Lady Yukari, are you certain about this?

It should be fine to leave the barrier as it is for a little while. Just until we send her home.
And besides... I'm rather interested in Makai's magic.

Ah, likewise. I'm suddenly very interested in what kind of world Makai is.
If possible, I'd love for you to tell me about it.

Hehehe~! With me on your side, you've got noooothing to worry about!
Just leave it all to me!

...Yep. Still just a kid.

And that's it for Chapter 9.

Stay tuned, cuz Chapter 10's where things start popping off.
