Meet the team today! We have Commander Keene the Mega Beedrill, Tiny Myers the Nihilego, Doobeedoo the Snorlax, Giant Rock from Space the Crytal Onyx (formerly Sapphire, shortened to BigSpaceRock), FPZero the Nidoking, and by viewer request, PridePog the ditto will be returning for this battle.
Let's head up the stairs and
OST - Pokémon Center
Oh.
I wasn't expecting to see one of these in this game.
Of course the books are fake; real ones are illegal after all.
Yes please! I would love to have a fresh party going into the next E4 fight.
: Okay, I promise I will once this is over.
: If you manage to reach him, remember...
Oh shit
OST - Emerald Rival Battle
Oh fuck
Our final E4 member is High Priestess Joy. She leads with Chansey and Xerneas.

A Chansey that loves to pick Ally Switch to try and tank hits meant for Xerneas cause why not? This is endgame babyyyyy
Well jokes on you, I have luck on my side with a crit and a poison proc, you aren't living to see next turn!
Keene goes down, but that's fine; they did their job admirably.
Tiny Myers job here is to set up Trick Room to give us some momentum; Joy actually has some slow mons so this isn't perfect, but I also brought some slow mons who I'd like to move faster.
Chansey goes down to poison at the end of the turn; their Ally Switch hubris has cost them dearly.
Oh god she has an Ultra Beast of her own.

Wow. That's... incredibly painful! Thankfully they take recoil, but being able to one shot me is... whew.
Poison Jab at least does some decent damage to Xerneas, but...

Xerneas gets off a turn-1 Geomancy (charge up for a turn, raise speed, special attack, and special defense by two stages next turn) thanks to it's power herb (skips charge turns). Yikes. They probably need to go.
Also incredibly minor rude thing: Celesteela has leftovers, so it taking half it's health in recoil isn't a problem because it'll eventually heal that health back for another Steel Beam.
I don't know why I used Reflect here; Joy's entire team is special attackers. Cosmic Power would have been better to click.

Celesteela oneshots FPZero, but the recoil leaves them low enough for Giant Rock From Space to KO them.

I tried to multitask by healing SpaceRock and killing Xerneas at the same time, but earthquake barely dents Xerneas and their Dazzling Gleam deals massive damage to Doobeedoo.
Joy sends out Audino and Mega Evolves it. Mega Audino I recall being decently bulky, but also one of the less good megas.
Granted, "less good" doesn't mean bad; it is quite bulky and takes a decent hit from Doobeedoo's Heavy Slam.

Xerneas gets finished off, but Audino finishes off Doobeedoo.
SpaceRock, meanwhile, is taking scratch damage from a Mega Evolution 20 levels higher than it. Crystal Onix is really really good.

I have to send in Ditto because I have no other mons left; I wonder what the gimmick of the mismagius it just copied is. Hmmmmmm.

We deal a nice chunk of damage to the opposing Mismagius, but not before it burns BigSpaceRock. Now we have to deal with a constant HP drain for the rest of the fight.
Still manageable though; Crystal Onix shouldn't have any problem tearing down the last 3 mons; especially after we buff up with Cosmic Power to make Aura Press hurt really bad.
Uh, what. I've never seen that move before.

...Oh.
Holy shit that's incredible but also aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

PridePog takes out the opposing Mismagius and also tanks a supereffective Shadow Ball from Audino; unfortunately it lowers their special defense so they won't be taking the next hit as kindly.

Thankfully SpaceRock is a team player and can heal both themselves and their teammates.
The revived Xerneas comes back out, showing that yes, indeed, that move did in fact just revive her entire party.

PridePog paralyzes the Xerneas, but gets one-two combod by Shadowball into Dazzling Gleam. Just Spacerock left now.

SpaceRock can tank special hits like nothing, so two Aura Presses is enough to take out Audino.

Chansey comes back out and I assume they will just Ally Switch or attack, so I have SpaceRock heal up so they can buff up and sweep.

Pfhahahaha, of course Chansey has the move too, why wouldn't they?
I Cosmic Power, but then I make a blunder here by risking a second Cosmic Power instead of healing up.

A blunder because if I were to, say, receive an unlucky critical hit, the boosted defense from all those cosmic powers wouldn't matter, and that crit might put me in a really bad spot.
And that's a wrap for that attempt! In theory I might have been able to recover from that; unlikely cause I was running low on Aura Press PP, but SpaceRock easily solos the fight when buffed up not counting the limited PP.
Alright, take two!

Chansey tries the Ally Switch shenanigans again, but this time I'm prepared for them and have Keene aim for Chansey instead of Xerneas so it hits Xerneas. They get taken out by Psychic the next turn, and the poison they put on Xerneas gets cancelled out by Chansey's Healer Ability, but they did good here. Trick Room goes up this turn too.

Unfortunately I didn't see the second Ally Switch coming so I'm unable to finish off Xerneas.
Tiny Myers lays down a layer of Toxic Spikes; I want to get a second layer down before I'll be feeling comfy.
FPZero somehow lives a Psychic from Xerneas; perhaps I can still have a chance to take out either the Xerneas or the Chansey.
Nevermind, the Chansey chose violence.
Thankfully, Tiny Myers gets off the second layer of Toxic Spikes; any grounded mons that enter the fight will become badly poisoned (take exponentially more damage each turn; it's basically a death sentence).

Having been reminded how good Crystal Onix is from last attempt, I bring out SpaceRock sooner so they can start setting up to bowl over the team. TinyMyers (who somehow lived the previous turn thanks to Xerneas picking Dazzling Gleam instead of Psychic) finishes off Xerneas as well.
Beast Boost also activates; perhaps I can sweep with Tiny Myers as well?
Celesteela comes out; I buff up more with SpaceRock while I have Tiny Myers aim a thunderbolt their way (Celesteela is Steel Flying; Steel doesn't resist electric so that flying type means they'll take some hurt).

hahaha nevermind, they really were out for blood here. RIP Tiny Myers.

Chansey is still up to it's ally switch shenanigans, so the Heavy Slam (deals more damage the heavier the user is than the target) meant for it instead hits the literal heaviest Pokémon in the series. Needless to say, it does scratch damage. Celesteela deals a quarter of Spacerock's health with Flamethrower.
Aura Press at least does decent damage to Chansey, so hopefully we can get them out of the picture before they revive something (though I wouldn't be surprised if they try to save it for after Audino does it).
Next turn, Celesteela throws another flamethrower at Giant Rock from Space, bringing them to half health. That's fine though.

SpaceRock finishes off Chansey, while Doobeedoo plays support and heals SpaceRock with an Earthquake. Teamwork!
Finally, the first victim to the Toxic Spikes. Celesteela and Mismagius are going to be immune to them, but the rest of the team (who is inevitabely going to be revived multiple times) will take some serious hurt from it.

Flamethrower is still hurting. I need to Cosmic Power some more so I don't take as much damage from it. Thankfully I had a Life Dew prepped.

Celesteela takes out Doobeedoo; little do they know, they have just activated my trap card.
But first, another Cosmic Power for the road. I think we're at +3 now?
Here we are. The reason I assume I was asked to bring Ditto to the fight.
It's a 1 PP move, but...
SpaceRock finishes off Celesteela, the only major threat to our team currently.
Let's see how you like your move being used against you!

:sickos:

The opposing Audino revives their team as well, but we have momentum both in the form of a buffed up Crystal Onix and Toxic Spikes, as well as having our entire team back.

I think Joy realizes the momentum we have, because she has Xerneas Geomancy up to try and get some momentum on her side.

Life dew up so SpaceRock can survive a hit from Xerneas, as well as switching out Ditto in case I get a chance for chansey.

Oh hey, speak of the devil! Kinda pointless to copy it now though cause all my mons are revived.

A few rounds of the team taking a hit from Dazzling Gleam, SpaceRock Lifedewing it up, and Doobeedoo earthquaking to top off SpaceRock's health. Doobeedoo is in a bad spot and will be taken out next turn, but GiantRockFromSpace is more than capable of soloing the opponents at this point.
Doobeedoo goes down to Dazzling Gleam, but SpaceRock avenges them by finishing off Xerneas.

I anticipated that Chansey would Ally Switch to be annoying, but I misread and FPZero gets taken out by Celesteela.
No worries; Spacerock has it covered, especially after Celesteela so graciously halved their HP for me.
Gently Caress off
Chansey just had to spite us one last time before falling to Poison.
It's fine. We just need to deal with Xerneas and Celesteela... Again.

Xerneas goes down quickly, though we do lose Commander Keene to Celesteela.
That's fine. Ditto can just copy Audino again and Ressurect the party again.
Never mind! PridePog is dead and Celesteela killed them!
In hindsight I should have just waited until Celesteela was dead before trying that trick.

Mismagius comes out and burns TinyMyers. Thunderbolt doesn't do much to Mismagius, but Audino at least gets finished off by Aura Press.
Joy's last mon is Florges. They're on a timer thanks to Toxic Spikes.

Mismagius does some decent hurt to Tiny Myers with Hex (which deals more damage to mons who have a status like burn). I doubt they'll last another hit, but they do manage to speed up that timer on Florges somewhat.
Yeah, they didn't even last to the end of the turn. Unfortunate!
Cosmic Powering up in case Florges has anything nasty up it's sleeve.
Also realizing I have a lose condition; I only have 2 PP left on Aura Press, and Mismagius isn't on a timer, so I need to kill Mismagius without running out of PP.

I decide to Cosmic Power some more just to be absolutely sure that Aura Press finishes off Mismagius. We're at +5 now, which should be enough. Florges, for what it's worth, has only been using Pollen Puff on SpaceRock, which seems really ineffective. Also they have a Sitrus Berry, which delays their demise slightly. Only slightly though; exponential poison damage is a bastard.
Mismagius Thunder Waves, which is annoying but I don't think I'm in any danger here.
Florges finally pulls out it's trump card, Light of Ruin: a 140 damage fairy move. It does scratch damage to Space Rock.

Turns out I didn't really have to worry too much about that PP, cause Mismagius goes down in a single hit. Florges follows thanks to the poison. Crystal Onix is really good, actually.
More like you couldn't save him from me.
Also wow you lied, you told me you would heal my party afterwards. Jerk.
This fight is nowhere near as difficult as Warren; it's not a pushover by any means, but it's definitely a breather between the hardest E4 member and the Champion. It's also just kind of a fun/funny fight? Felt like cartoon hijinx. I'm a fan.
Sure, heal my friends. I don't care about pride at this point, because the only pride that matters is that the champion's reign will end.
: I have yet to set aside all childish things. Though greater powers are in my grasp... I keep the Gyarados you taught me how to train.
: And to the Nameless, I know you'll never read this... I kept your favorite too.
Hmm. So we can probably expect to see a Mega Gyarados in the fight at least. Namless Shephard's favorite would probably be a ghost type, too. Hmm.

Anyways. Here is our remaining mons. We both have a lot to choose from but also not many strong ones. I'm honestly kinda tempted to bring SpaceRock again just because of how well they performed last fight; the big question is whether I'm able to set up against their leads. Bringing a bunch of strong mons isn't a bad call. I'm honestly starting to worry that Vaporeon wasn't the correct choice for Eve's evolution and I should have went Sylveon instead, but a bit late for that now. Ohio Rizz definitely feels like a must bring because setting priority dual screens sounds really good. Whimsicott is a potential option if I want to set Tailwind, but Tailwind is the only thing they'd really be good at and they'd potentially be a weak link otherwise, so I'd need to make it count. On the other hand, I could do Trick Room shenanigans with Indeedee, since the Champion is likely to be overleveled.
Really, lots of choices here. But here's what I know for certain: next time, the Champion's reign... ends.
